Stephen Jones gears up for a talk about Haiti and says that the crisis was generated to grab the oil.

http://vimeo.com/9614190

He starts speaking about this at around the 6:20 mark on this video after David Ray Griffin waffles on about Sunstein (I think, I didn't actually listen to it though).

Sounds like he's doing another talk a bit later on and so is only introducing it here so maybe there's more video somewhere.

He seems a bit nervous as if he's worried about sounding like the nuttiest guy in a roomful of nuts. So he starts giggling a bit on the subject of the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and torture.

Does the dolt think HAARP did it? Jones thinks the US caused, "generated" the Haiti earthquake.

You're at it again - how many times do I need to repeat: you must not allow facts to obscure the Truth.

Why should anybody want to grab a country that is totally impoverished and disorganized. So much easier to just purchase any oil (and any civil servants needed).

Do these guys really, really think the US would have their soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, if they could arrange for some nice little earthquakes, instead?

What is going on in their brains? ...... Oh, I see. ..... Forget the last question, then.

I know! Richard Gage's creepy sendoff could be misconstrued as the ramblings of a cult-leader for anyone who didn't realize they were at a meeting of scholarly scientists, architects and engineers.

What oil? What oil?

The oil that Steven Jones says is there! He should know, he's a scientist!

I think this is based on some speculation by a former Mobile geologist:
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601072&sid=aUqFB_GbhRYM

The Jan. 12 earthquake was on a fault line that passes near potential gas reserves, said Stephen Pierce, a geologist who worked in the region for 30 years for companies including the former Mobil Corp. The quake may have cracked rock formations along the fault, allowing gas or oil to temporarily seep toward the surface, he said yesterday in a telephone interview.

“A geologist, callous as it may seem, tracing that fault zone from Port-au-Prince to the border looking for gas and oil seeps, may find a structure that hasn’t been drilled,” said Pierce, exploration manager at Zion Oil & Gas Inc., a Dallas- based company that’s drilling in Israel. “A discovery could significantly improve the country’s economy and stimulate further exploration.”

... “One of the main reasons for the dearth of information on reserves in Haiti is that the Dominican Republic has numerous surface-hydrocarbon seeps while Haiti had very, very few,” he said.

Abraham Lincoln’s consul to the Dominican Republic reported oil seeps there in 1862. Neither nation produces oil or gas. As much as 1 trillion cubic feet of gas may be trapped in a border formation near the earthquake fault, Pierce said.

(I'm waiting for some paranoia site to raise hay about the fact that this fellow now works for a company named "Zion Oil and Gas"... I'm actually surprised I didn't trip on any yet.)

Of course, that's all "potential". Keep in mind the actual production numbers:

Oil - production: 0 bbl/day (2007 est.)
Rank: 189

Haiti has no "proved" reserves (I don't know why the word isn't "proven", but that's what I'm finding on the net: The word "proved" when talking about petroleum reserves). This is not to say they have zero - recall, the Dominican Republic has no "proved" reserves either, but no one denies that some is available at Charco Largo. Still, though, it's somewhat amazing to imply that the US's motivations for being in Haiti are due to oil. If petroleum were truly the primary motivator of US policy, why haven't we invaded Canada? After all, they're second only to Saudi Arabia in terms of proved oil reserves, and the US wouldn't have to put together drilling facilities to access it; it's already there. Unlike in Haiti.

Every government on earth knows that the Americans can use HAARP to cause Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Tsunamis, Cyclones and what have you The only ones who don't know are the general populations of the world.

But I think we all know by now that that is rapidly changing.

They don't seem to be worried about that though. Maybe it's because they think they are getting away Scot-free with 9/11 and other atrocities. I really wonder if they have considered the longer term effects though ?

I'd say that Gages closing of that video (from 9.23) gives the explanation to why there are still truthers... It gives them "love and connection". And friends.

You sound rattled Beachnut. You have every reason to be. How does it feel to be right on the edge ?

What's most impressive is that despite producing a grand total of nothing, they're still ranked 156/209 (they're higher on the main ranking page than the one you linked, and the main page appears to be more recent). In fact, there are only 41 countries who don't produce anything who produce more than them.

FYI

[Zion] was founded by John Brown, a Texas oil man and born-again Christian who believes that the Bible provides guidance on finding massive quantities of petroleum oil deposits in Israel. Brown personally believes that his involvement in Zion Oil was prophesied by 1 Kings (8:41) which mentions "a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name’s sake".[4]

Despite his unpromising background of Creationist beliefs, Brown has built up a significant oil exploration company, which employs serious business people and qualified geologists. Zion's Biblical literalists believe verbatim in the Bible, however they must accept the science of oil exploration where evolution is fact, and the earth is dated as being several billion years old. The science of oil exploration conflicts directly with Old Testament beliefs, yet according to Brown, suppression of literal interpretations of the Bible must be tolerated to provide the needed scientific basis for oil exploration.

Zion Oil is a loss-making operation, and has never turned a profit[5] an

That's amazing that all the scientists who don't work for the government have been fooled. But what do scientist know anyway. Right Bill? Weren't you advocating first impressions as a source of revealed truth? And advising members of the forum that investigation and science should not be trusted?

Good job Bill. Don't you see where you're going with this?

All the governments are aware that a harmless scientific instrument is being used to do things it's not actually capable of doing? Are all the governments also aware of the hiding place for the secret Leprechaun gold?

Heh... according to the eia.doe.gov site, the Dominican Republic had negative production. I wonder if this means they're putting oil back into the ground. :D
