Evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth.

Sort of like how I don't expect my dog to understand why it's wrong to poop on the carpet, but I do expect her to realize that "pooping on carpet" will result in a swat with newspaper and X being angry.

I have no problem with the idea of swatting DOC on the nose with a newspaper, but I sincerely hope you're joking about treating your dog this way. As you say, your dog has no idea why you're doing it, and cannot make the connection you desire.

Unless the Ammonites were a variety of fig tree...

I thought they were a kind of fossil?

Also a kind of highly sought-after Bingo number.

Gday,

You've must have missed all the posts on the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. And are you seriously saying the historical person Jesus' body did not disappear.

There are FOUR alleged 'tombs of Jesus -
2 DIFFERENT places in Jerusalem :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_the_Holy_Sepulchre
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garden_Tomb

And one in Kashmir :

And another in Japan :

it certainly is evidence (although not proof) when the famous historical person 11 apostles

Not Christian ever claimed to have met Jesus (not counting the 2nd C. forged 2 Peter.)

It's all myth.

How could anyone meet a mythical person as Jesus was. :)

Why should we CARE what he thought about him ?
I care what a knighted respected archaeologist and former skeptic who spent 15 years digging and doing research in biblical lands (Sir William M. Ramsay) says about gospel writer Luke. If you don't, that is your right.

actually you don't care what he says, because you do not listen to his full statement. Indeed, you lie each and every time you quote him.

It's the right of all of us DOC, and none of us believe word you have had to say.

Why are you still here?

Whom do you think you're addressing with all this drivel of yours?

Lurkers?

Don't you think that after all this time any lurkers who believe any of your garbage would have volunteered that information?

Face it DOC, you are totally wasting your time here. You've set your own cult back considerably, and now all you're doing is amusing people as you continue to talk, pretty much, to yourself. The only interest anyone has in this thread is to see what the next Bingo number will be.

Do you understand any of this?

A single word?

I don't think you do, and it's side-splittingly funny.

Please don't stop.

Can't you read? He did say what made him lose his faith -- it was the totality of the thread and your (as well as other Christians) singular inability to defend what you stated was evidence that the New Testament writers told the truth and not one single post, no single specific thing.

Look back in the thread. Post 9919.

Even Christ couldn't convince everyone, which is why some decided to leave his group and some decided to nail him to a cross. Colitos has the right to his opinion, just as the people who left Christ's discipleship, and those who hung him to a cross had the free will right to their opinion. My 1600 posts are out there, people have the free will right to think of them as they choose. I asked Colitos for specific posts that caused him problems and he chose not to give any so I guess I can't do much more. I do hope he reads all my posts though if he hasn't. Or books by Norman Geisler, Ralph Muncaster, and Josh McDowell (and of course the bible).

It would have been the Romans doing the nailing, don't you think, DOC?

Are you really going to describe the Roman Empire as splitters from Jeebus' group?

Are you a former Monty Python writer, by any chance?

Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.

So instead of asking yourself WHY Carlitos would say what he said, you simply pass the buck.

You've helped demonstrate some interesting aspects of christianity:

1.) Slavery is ok (in some circumstances)
2.) Jesus/god are moral relativists.
3.) When following god, one doesn't need to be accountable for ones actions.
4.) Lying is acceptable if it's for god.

Actually the apostle Paul claimed to have met Jesus on the road to Damascus. And Paul also wrote Jesus appeared to all the apostles and at least 500 others with over 250 still alive when he wrote it. Paul was really putting his whole ministry (where he often risked his life) on the line by putting this in writing if it wasn't true.

And it would seem the first 14 or 15 people listed on this site met Jesus:
