Considering Hillary Clinton has been hammered just as heavily, and from my perspective more, as Sarah Palin I disagree with this statement. There is still a problem with sexism within liberal circles. I doubt there is any broad based political movement that has managed to eliminate sexism from its ranks. I am open to Hillary may not have been hammered more and that it is merely my perspective in that I paid more attention to the Democratic Presidential primaries and she has been in national politics much longer than Sarah Palin.

I have witnessed sexist fueled paranoia and attacks against Hillary as well as other prominent female liberals from liberals. Quite a bit came out during Democratic Presidential Primaries.

I also saw some of this from conservatives launched at Sarah Palin periodically.

The Daily show did have fun with cutting some clips of Fox news personalities complaining about sexism based attacks on Palin then to earlier clips of them making sexism based attacks on Hillary. I wonder if it is that being a woman who disagrees with them politicaly is a higher mark against them than a man who disagrees politicaly. While being a woman in their own party is not as big a deal.
 
I would definitely agree that partisan politics plays a part in it. My opinion is that a woman is likely to receive most of the sexism from the other side in US.

So if someone claimed that Sarah received more liberal sexist attacks than conservative sexist attacks I would agree, but point out that Hillary received more conservative sexist attacks than liberal sexist attacks.

Sexist attacks against men, while there, tend to be of the laughable variety in politics. Most successful anti-male sexism seems to be in the realm of sitcoms.
 
I'm sorry folks, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I was crabby and lashed out, and wrongly.

Of course you can make it up. You can easily assert that Sarah Palin received some special mistreatment that is unwarranted and unprecedented, but it doesn't mean it's true.
 
She's up there talking and I'm sure to some people she's saying what they're thinking and that's why they like her.

Well the only example I can think of off the top of my head is Michele Obama. But she is not a politician in and of herself. I can't think of hot female democratic politicians, at least on the national stage. Kuchinich also has a smoking hot wife, but hard to say that she is really a democrat on the national stage.

As for their not being porn about her, well I could argue that it is because she is black and it has to do with race in porn rather than concervative vs liberal. This makes sense but I can't discount that porn might have treated her different because of concervative vs liberal.

As for comments about her apearance, well I remember many negative comments about Hillary's apearance from 2 years ago. We do treat attractive women differently from attractive men. Is this sexist or just recognising differences between men and women? I really don't know.
 
Okay, I tried to do a search for some liberal female porn. Michelle Obama turns up racist pictures mostly. Oh, and requests for Michelle Obama porn. Apparently Hillary Clinton porn exists. An advertisement for Nailin' Palin claims a threesome including a Hillary Clinton look alike. Beyond that, do liberal celebrities count? Of course that would also open conservative celebrities.

The issue is that she is very attractive. If there was a someone from the democratic party who made as big a splash as her and was as hot, I think you would see porn about it as well. She is a contemperary cultural icon, and porn has always been quick to cash in on things that are trendy. See porn spoofs of popular movies.

Yeah, I don't think this is a characteristic of either party. I think society just tends to sexualize women far more than men, but then women have some advantages to make up for it.

When people want to attack another person, they usually go for what is going to be the most hurtful. Insults to female political figures or even pundits are very frequently based on their sexuality or their looks - read some of the hate mail that Michelle Malkin gets, it is very nasty. Male public figures are attacked in different ways, for example this.

Sorry, anyone as dim and hypocritical as Palin deserves the ire she gets. I have a hard time believing that someone with as many problems as Palin could survive on the left. She can't do it on the right. It's just the right is less willing to criticize her because she was just their VP pick in 2008.

She's getting thrown under the bus, albeit slowly.
