Ancient Pyramids and other structures, astronomical alignment & similarity.

Mind dropping a link to it? I looked at your list of threads all the way back to the beginning and couldn't find anything specifically about this, but I do remember debating the methods of moving and carving big stones with you, and that you appeared at the time to support a nonhuman hypothesis for such, and to take the position that no human could do such things. Wally Wallington is rather human and his techniques, while aimed at stonehengy bits, were certainly accessible to the incas as well. If I recall, you asked Argent and I to let the thread die, after we started posting links to stuff like this. Extra odd if you'd already been aware of such...

A

I think that exchange was before I ran into this Wallington fellow. The Coral Castle links led me to Wally. That and my own need to move and place some heavy stones, with no lift machinery.

You CAN move anything with a long enough lever and a fulcrum...or in this case with 2 fulcrums and a counter-balance.

I'm looking for the thread now. Although, I may not have created the thread, it may have just been part of another.

Is their difference in size less than 1% of total base size...5%?

Just how similar are they?

If you're talking about Pharaoh Khufu's Pyramid and the cheap, New World knock-off at Teotihuacan, they're about 2% difference in base side length.

A coincidence that has fuelled nearly as much nonsense as the Nazca lines.

I recall that thread. My friendliest advice is to not find it.

I'll just add a bit to this comparison of New World and ancient Egyptian Pyramids.

Comparing their sizes yields no insights at all.

Let's imagine that Nelson's Column and Cleopatra's Needle were exactly the same height. Would it be reasonable to assume a commonality of design?

Of course not.

Same as Egyptian/American Pyramids. They're completely different things, and all they share is a similar (or congruent, at least) shape and (almost) size.

Is the Volkswagen modelled on the Venus de Milo? They weigh about the same and both start with 'V'. That couldn't possibly be just a coincidence, could it?

I just thought of something else, but it's a bit of specualation on my part, so caveat emptor.

I've put up a few small buildings myself, and the way I've always got them nice and square is to measure the diagonals. I reckon Imhotep knew that too, but of course, it's a bit tricky to check this measurement with the Pyramid still in place.

I'll bet the diagonals of the Great Pyramid are spot-on equal.

2%...hummm...I was hoping for the 1%...but still that means that the two structures are 98% 'similar' in base lengths...

If we used their square footage, "footprint on the land" would we get to 1% difference, or would it be even less?

---

Lines of Nazca? Might I remind you of the title of this thread? There are no structures or pyramids at Nazca...

---

Couldn't find the thread in 'my' list, so it must have been within another discussion. I guess that makes me a liar, now huh?

So what happens if two pyramids are of very similar size?
Can we settle for coincidence or must there be a supernatural explanation?

Area of square = side length squared (funny that).

If the sides are out by 2%, what's the difference in area going to do?

If you're going to troll someone, try someone who knows less than you do yourself, it's much easier.

Not at all, but as I advised you a few posts back, not finding it was the way to go.

I think this says worlds.

It says "Akhenaten, you are wasting your time."

I'm becoming more and more convinced that there is a whole class of people for whom the word 'coincidence' means 'other-worldly'.

I wish the Gideons handed out dictionaries instead of that stupid fairytale book.

my calculations made it between 3 and 4% difference, as well as orientated in a different direction

Yeah, cool, I can go with that. I wasn't too sure if we were using skin on or skin off for Pharaoh Khufu's Pyramid, and I can't even remember which one I used.

I've also got to admit that I know stuff-all about American Pyramids, so it comes as a surprise to learn that they include parking areas and a souvenir shop.

They were clearly more advanced than I'd previously thought.

Yeah, I know the Freemason's didn't build the temple, but I also know that they use a representation of it that is extremely unlikey to have existed at the time that the bible says it did.

I have no idea why the Masons didn't adopt something real, and made out of stone, like for instance, a Pyramid.

IIRC, someone started a thread some time back that dealt with such issues.

in summary
apparently because youre all open minded and eat dinner every two weeks thats enough to qualify you to speak on ancient architecture, hmmm seems odd, all that really qualifies you for is as a member of a sex club
you already have the premises
:p

The Viking group makes me wonder, there are no records of time machines in the sagas?

You wouldn't need one, Teotihuacan was prosperous until the 7th or 8th centuries common era when invaders attacked the city, sacking and burning it.

exactly the same time as the Vikings appear in history, its even their modus operandi and yanno with that peruvian bloke being found in that ancient norse cemetary a couple of years back theres more than sufficient supporting evidence
:p

If things are the same in one thing they are the same in all things that's why a duck and a battleship are the same.

I had the impression that Teotihuacan was something like 100BC to 200 AD, 7th to 8th sounds more like it for longships to appear. :D
And somebody brought home a peruvian thrall?
If he brought those electric flutes they pester every pedestrian street and square with it is no wonder he ended up in a graveyard, with the flutes easily recognised inside the pelvic bone.
