Stewart takes Olberman to task, Olberman Apologizes

Well good, but it don't think it was really the kind to deserve a 'wow'. He didn't really take ownership of the problem.

Still, lets see what kind of shows he comes out with.

So it's official then? ie Maher wins the most pompous ahole of the world contest in overtime?

That is surprising, but he's been so "over the top" for so long, and (again) to such a glaring degree re the case in question, I wouldn't exactly hand him a trophy.

No trophy, and my "wow" is of the monotone-declarative variety. Not excited, just somewhat surprised. It is interesting to see someone at least admit that the shtick is obnoxious.
I doubt he'll change much, but we'll see.

Sorry, no one comes close to Alex Jones. And Olberman at least doesn't engage in the nonsense that O'Reily and Hannity do.

Probably because Olbermann doesn't have the same access as the other two. O'Reilly brings the President onto his show.

It's not a lack of trying. It's a lack of ability.

Yep hear ya on all counts. PS in fairness I consider such schtick obnoxious and idiotic in the extreme regardless of which "side" it comes from.

Olbermann is just as partisan as those two, but in general he sticks to actual facts rather then ones someone has made up. I expect Olbermann simply has a lot more fact based material to work with at the moment though.

I agree with this. But it's more than that. Olberman is better with logic. The fallacies spewed by many on the right are just unbelievable. I was a long time Rush fan but once I learned logic and how to spot fallacies he became increasinly more difficult to listen to. His favorite fallacy? The straw man. He fires them off like bullets.

Wow like how Ben Stein says it in a Clear Eyes ad. But still, O'Reilly would have called Stewart a smear merchant or some crap, and Hannity would have taken a verbal dump. Olbermann conceded the point and that's a million times more integritous than the Fox people ever thought about being.

Yeah. David Letterman brings the president on his show too, but he manages not to be a fearmongering pandering to his base hyperbolic douche bag when he does it.

Oh, and as for O'Reilly and Hannity bringing the president onto their shows... Not THIS president.

No, he has a nice cushy softball session with one exception.

Besides, this just means Olbermann is the Carson Daily to O'Reilly's Letterman

He also interviewed Hillary during her campaign and I thought he was actually pretty tame. Compared to some of his contemporaries, anyway.

O'Reilly did an interview with Candidate Obama and it was superior to Olbermann's interviews with Candidate Obama. POTUS Obama has said he will talk with O'Reilly about appearing on his show.

I thought this was interesting. I generally don't like Olberman. I think he's too much of a windbag. It seems Stewart thought so as well, and mocked him. But I didn't expect this: Olberman apologized. Wow.

Before the "apology," K.O. said:

"This from a guy who reached his professional apex when he was the host of Short Attention Span Theater, 1991?"

The only reason K.O. played the Daily Show spot was in hopes of actually attracting viewers to his Countdown show.

:D That Stewart bit is but more comedy gold. Third time today, it must be Comedy Wednesday™. Sadly for him, Olberman can claim but 1/10th the 'talent' Stewart possesses. I've never truly 'got' him or his appeal.

I caught that too. I think someone needs to get the former jock supporter a dictionary. I'm pretty sure Stewart's career continued to rise after SAST. To, you know, a news related show that out draws Countdown.

He's so desperately trying to create a fake feud. Either that, or he's so surrounded by lackey's and sycophants, it takes Stewart embarrassing him to let him know he's off the rails.

Sorry, I forgot to call you out on this too

Really? Because they've appeared on each other's shows. O'Reilly is generally complinetary of Stewart (if somewhat backhanded)

and Hannity would have taken a verbal dump.

No, he made fun of Jon Stewart, showed us he doesn't know what "apex" means, and made a half hearted apology.
