Hystaria rules when it comes to Obama, while the Tee Party right in this conuntry scream of "socialism" and "Hitler", Chavez's Venezuala is pushing the story that the US caused the earthquake in order to take over Haiti.

So, they think we can cause an earthquake in Haiti, but apparently can't cause one in Iraq, Iran or Pakistan...or for that matter, a really bad one in Caracas...

So we have a weapon that can release force equivalent to 50 million tons of TNT...

And no one noticed the nuke going off?

.... Chavez's Venezuala is pushing the story that the US caused the earthquake in order to take over Haiti.

Heard a comment this morning on a French radio (Culture channel):

"Chavez is too busy nationalizing casinos in Venezuela, he can't send help to Haiti. He should close his s***-trap"

I would think that if Chavez really believed that, he'd try hard to think small and quiet.

I guess he has amply demonstrated he didn't think, which could explain why he could actually believe it.

The way to find out if Chavez really believes that crap is to threaten to hit Venezuela with a 10.4 unless he hands over all of their oil.

"we have the worrisome suspicion that this earthquake may be associated with the project called HAARP, a system that can generate violent and unexpected changes in climate." ...
Okay, this may be asking too much from such this *******, but since when are earthquakes considered "climate?"

Obama causes earthquakes...
Actually, what the original source (from a time before he was president) was quoted as saying is

"Ooh, that hunky Barack Obama, he made the earth move for me!"

Hugo ought to have done a bit more homework.

In Chavez's defense- it's pretty obvious that if you were plotting world domination, the first logical step would be to take over Haiti.

dude use your brain!

If they can control the weather the logical next question is, what can't they do??

That's right! Because we could than use Haiti as a model of how US intervention benefits a country...oh, wait. Been there done that with Haiti.

But Chavez is a a socialist! He hates Bush! With such impeccable credentials, how can he be wrong???

At least the long line of Chavez defenders in the last few years on this forum -- all trying to deny the obvious, namely, that he's a nutty dictator, as being some sort of "right-wing propaganda" -- is, I hope, going to end soon.

Dictator? No. Most of that really was right-wing propaganda. But nutty? Yes, and increasingly so.

Much (not all) of what he's done has been very much worth defending. Much of what he's said has been acutely embarrassing, and I don't think there are many on the left who'd still defend him unconditionally.

We better send out our best investigator to expose the US government. Jesse Ventura is on the case.
