January Stundie Nominations

Not a Stundie, really, but rather priceless nonetheless:

Truly talented people: people who are able to make things that will survive well after they are dead, do not need formal education. If Elvis Presley would have taken music lessons at an accredited music school it would have ruined him.

For all of the "great schools" of the world do is turn out mediocre managers. doctors, lawyers, businessmen, engineers would be more well served by apprenticeships. Athletes would be better served if they didn't have to go to some stupid college. There could be instructional leagues for gifted athletes.

All formal education is is a way to coagulate the ********.

Want to make a better world: Bulldoze the universities. Start with the Ivy league.

Must not have gotten in, eh? ;)

Learning to be a Brain Surgeon by On The Job Training is a wonderful idea.....
Whenever someone delivers a mindless rant against formal education, I have a evil desire to see what kind of grades he got in school..

Yes, or as one of my favorite professors used to say, "Would you really want to go to a doctor that attended medical school on a pass/fail grading system?"

one of my favorite teachers used to ask "what do you call the man who graduated last in his class from the lowest rated medical school in the country?"

you call him "doctor"

take it how you will, but your quote reminded me of it, lol

Heh. I've had students complain because I failed a paper that they "rote n l33t. were ^set cuz dey thot wuz gr8."

My reply was "If you truly believe that, you're too stupid to be in college."

Allow me a shot at translation: Students turned in assignments written in "leet speak" and were upset with their grades because the authors believed them to be well-written.

I have no idea what that says.

They wrote in leet (elite). (They) were upset because they thought it was (a) great (thing to do.)

They figured it was being creative and I was being to much of an "old guy" because I could understand what it meant yet I wouldn't let them do it. Sad really.

True Story,

Failed a math test, got my paper back in college. (I was hungover/still drunk from the night before, what do you want from me!?!?) Yeah, on the back, application to the local fast food joint.

Never failed another test again.

If you run into that professor again tell him/her I'm stealing that. (Don't worry it will be put to good use.)

Yep, exactly.

And good teachers will NOT penalize true creativity. My mom once received a paper that was a series of beautiful original illustrations of the novel that was the subject of the paper. She gave the student (an art major) an A.

Most evil atheist today, most evil theist today, who's more evil?

Let me google these two phrases:

most evil atheist today
most evil theist today

and see what google turns up.

Here is what google turns up for "most evil atheist today":

Results 1 - 10 of about 3,520,000 for most evil atheist today. (0.26 seconds)

And here is what google turns up for "most evil theist today":

Results 1 - 10 of about 138,000 for most evil theist today. (0.33 seconds)

So, google finds extremely more hits for "most evil atheist today" than for "most evil theist today."

Atheists here, what do you say to that?

Humans are not native to earth, at least not in the way we are genetically composed now. There is plenty of evidence of UFO's. The elite worship entities we cannot visually see, becuase we were genetically altered not to see them, IF you look at the earth's original history, mythologies state the naga, serpent people, and such , which is used in modern symbolism, including the whole staff weapon that is such a hit in videogames now adays. All this draconian serpent symbolism.

That thread is a special kind of crazy.

My last post should read,

"That instructor is NOW the Chief of the FD I work for. "

My bad. Drunk.

The elite worship entities we cannot visually see

As opposed to all those entities we can auditorially see, or tactilely see, or gustatorially see, or olfactorially see?

Sounds like somebody's been watching that classic They Live and mistook it for a documentary. He's probably out looking for those magic sunglasses right now...

I would have ended up with lots of applications then because I failed lots of math tests in college. I wasn't drunk either I was just math retarded. I was fine in all my other classes (including, strangely, physics) but in straight math I just struggled.
