My First Conspiracy Theory This "Terrorist Attack" is a set up

Suppose Obama had just publically supported striking Bosnia (like Clinton did). Now, imagine the following 'analysis' of Obama's hypothetical action:

As for the first guy being a fabricated person, that is absurd. The conspiracy would have to involve all the people on the plane and the hospital they took the guy too for his burns. And what would be the point?

How do you figure they'd all have to be in on it?

I figured the setup was more of the 'terrorist' didn't properly mix the chemicals on purpose. It's a scare, but not a terribly deadly one. After all, why wait till a mere 1hr before landing on a long international flight? If the goal is really to take a flight out (with few to no survivors), why not do it mid-Atlantic?

ETA: Note that I'm not a conspiracy theorist at all. But, seriously, let's at least be skeptical before we just wave our hands in dismissal...

It's my understanding the second guy was just ill, stayed in the bathroom for an hour and cursed at the stewards who asked him to come out. I'm pretty sure he's been released and not charged with any plane attack.

Why would it have to involve all the people on the plane? If the guy worked for the CIA or whatever, he gets on a plane and acts like a terrorist, choosing to detonate "firecrackers" which really wouldn't do damage enough to hurt anyone. He gets caught in front of all the passengers during a holiday season where many people are flying. The public freaks and voila, Lieberman is on the road to Yemen.

Yes, but WHY would we be going after Yemen again? Last I heard, while there are some terrorist training camps there, Yemen doesn't support terrorism as blatantly as countries like Iran do.

I may be out of date with that information though, but I still don't know of any reason why we would suddenly feel the need to attack YEMEN of all places.

No but seriously I don't know if it's because I don't watch television but when I went out to the pub today and saw the media frenzy over the alleged terrorist attack I had an inner churchlady moment of "how conveeeeeeeeeeeeenient"

I don't understand what would be gained from this being set up. So Joe took the opportunity to "pretend" like he was concerned about Americas well being on the back of a failed terrorist attack for some media face time for some extra votes. Also, wouldn't you think it would sound more like a CT if the President or someone a little higher on the food chain said that about Yemen?

Not to mention al-Qaeda claimed responsibility and we are already trying to fight them so the only other windfall from this is you might have to pull down your pants at the airport more often and you won't be able to use a laptop or something.

al-Qaeda of course is going to take responsibility of any sort of terror attack failed or otherwise. Why not? Even if they just think the guy was trying to do it they'll take what they can get.

I think that the "windfall" is basically scare tactics to make Americans less contrary to our wars.

Well how am I supposed to get evidence sitting on my butt here in NYC of an event that just happened that totally is being covered up by the CIA?

How can I prove that someone is lying if top officials are in on it? Haven't you seen The Firm? If I start poking around they will likely kidnap my family or something. It's better to just get the word out on the internet until someone breaks..

Right! That's what I think. I was blown away (excuse the pun) when I saw Liberman's "preemptive crap."

I think the "terrorists" in these cases are CIA plants or FBI or whoever does that these days.

Yemen dont have nukes(as far as I know) nor are they developing any. Thats the kind of country we wanna pick a fight on!!
