Why Not Palin for President?

Geeze TAM have you not read any right-wing blogs, papers or listened to any right-wing programs? Many LOVE her. AS you mentioned - she's a mom, a good parent, and not only that but she:

hunts, can shoot her own moose, dresses it, drives a pick-up (maybe), does dishes, laundry, gave birth 5 times, breast fed, changed diapers, was a mayor, govenor, and was slated as VP for McCain. Oh and she loves Jesus.

She's not a pansy woman in eyes of many republicans. She spoke of herself as a "pitbull with lipstick". That appeals to many people.

If they were frivolous, by definition, they would not get very far. A judge can stop it at the preliminary hearing stage.

If it gets past that stage, and the suit is groundless, it'll be lost and the defendant can ask for the plaintiff to pay for costs. It's often awarded.

Politicians don't quit over something like this unless they think the cases will get past the preliminary hearings and have a good chance of also winning in court.

Every political figure is vulnerable to frivolous lawsuits.

But not every political figure is vulnerable to genuine lawsuits.

I would say that you can identify the politician who is in real trouble by watching to see if they resign or stay to ride out 'frivolous' suits.

Appealing characteristics for their leader? really? that is truly scary.

Here is what I consider important qualities for the leader of the most powerful country on the planet (well maybe outside of China these days)...in order of importance.

1. Superior Intelligence.
2. Intellectual Curiosity at a WORLD level.
3. Understands and respects the responsibilities and obligations of representing a super-power.
4. Superior Communicator
5. Able to listen and process information at a high level.
6. Superior Charisma
7. Able to rally people behind him/her through inspiration.

Now she may have a couple of these, but given the above, you can see why Sarah is not anywhere on my list.

All that is required for an American president:

Intelligent
35 or older
Puts America first
Can think long term (which means making good deals and good allies)
Understands fiscal responsiblity
Understands strategy
Speaks clearly
Can lead

That's it.

Oh - anyone can run as long as they have the qualifications that Darth wrote above. This thread is "why not" Palin for President.

But when dealing with our enemies (as in actual enemies, not merely political opponents), isn't deception entirely appropriate?

Hell, if I could amend the U.S. Constitution, I would require a politician have a PhD from an accredited university before being allowed to run for federal office. Several if you want to be president.

So Obama and the Democratic Congress are a bunch of knuckle dragging clods?
If Palin and her just plain folks routine represents one extreme, this represents the other.
The problem with rule by an elite is that inevitably the country will be ran for the benefit of the elite.
