Liberals Obsessed With Conservatives?

where is the proof to back up the O'Reilly claims of a "War on Christmas" by tradition-hating liberals and atheists?

Or are you going to point to "controversies" over the display of a nativity scene in some BS town in middle america for your "proof"?

hehe - I think today marks a first for me.

To be honest I've never come across anyone that took this "war on christmas" stuff seriously - but seems like Eyeron laps that stuff up for realzies!

Most of O'Reilly's small town examples were specifically not what he claimed they were.

The "War on Christmas" ranged from exaggerated spin to outright fabrication on the part of O'Reilly, et al.

Evidence?

Here's a hint: who do you think it was getting those companies to change things like Christmas Tree to holiday tree. People who value political correctness above all else are usually liberals. For instance, they were the ones demanding that Christmas be changed to holidays so as to be all inclusive and non-offensive.

Heh, in truth though that Wiki article says nothing about whether these people who are demanding the change from Christmas to holiday are conservatives or liberals. Except for the Catholic League being religious and protesting the change of Christmas to holiday.

Oh, and here's mine:

Hehe - ok then... but is anyone of these "liberals" and godless atheists saying people shouldnt be able to put up trees in their homes? Or decorate their lawns with their own nativity scenes? Or saying that it should not be a public holiday?

No!!!

So this whole thing rests on a caricature: there's a debate over public displays preferential to one religion, and then the knee-jerk blowhards inflate that into a "war on christmas".

If there was truly a "war on christmas" then there'd be a lobby to make the 25th a working day, steps to ban the selling of christmas trees and people advocating for the END of the observance of chistmas altogether.

nobody is doing that, anywhere. there is no war on christmas. So, just because the Gap started saying "holiday" instead of christmas we're all supposed to believe there's a "war on christmas"?

Really, change "the NWO" with "liberals and the ACLU" and some right-wing thinking looks VERY trutherish...

So conservatives are the ones who are launching this so-called war on Christmas?

You'll have to explain that one.

To my knowledge it has always been atheists and liberals who have been attacking Christmas, not conservatives.

I get my religious position on Christmas from my puritian ancestors who helped found this country. That is it should be banned outright.

Here is a better hint: Which group is it that wants to sell product to as wide a group of people as possible (i.e., not just Christians, but also Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Atheists, etc) ?

That's right. It's the Capitalist War On Christmas!!!!

This just goes to show the strength of his confirmation bias. He does not see the blatant misrepresentations and lies that conservatives spread so it makes it very easy to only see the liberal side.

When will see that on O'Reilly I wonder?

"Capitalism: the enemy of Christian values and the celebration of Christmas"

Ah good we need traditional pagan symbols that is the truest essence of being a christian. Focus on America's german roots.

Yea, it needs to get rid of all the commercial element and go back to the traditional drunkan revelry. There is no where near enough drunkan revelry going on durring christmass. If people keep their traditions it would put Marti Gras to shame.

By the way, all this personal attacks on me only proves that I am right.

Marketing executives.

People who value political correctness above all else are usually liberals.

And people who make silly business decisions are usually marketing executives.

For instance, they were the ones demanding that Christmas be changed to holidays so as to be all inclusive and non-offensive.

Nobody was "demanding" any such thing. This was simply a silly business decision.
