Is this reallY going to be on tomorrow's ballot? I heard something like it wasnt or something. ANyway can someone explain this into further detail?
NYCCAN was one of the biggest failures in the history of a movement that is nothing but fail.
What is gobsmacking is that the people behind the petition were told fairly early on that it would never reach the ballot because the intiative proposed things that were clearly illegal and it would be thrown out for that reason, but the fools continued anyway.
Is it a surprise? They have been told their CD nonsense is totally implausible yet here they are.
Excellent point, but when you pay an attorney for his advice and then you ignore it....that takes a special kind of stupid.
My father was a lawyer, and he says that was his favourite kind of client; he felt he could make more money clearing up the mess afterwards. It was the ones who acted on his advice that he lost sleep over.

I suspect that the real motive all along, from the very beginning, was to fleece the gullible and so get free lunch for as long as possible. Will NYCCAN ever open it's books to show where the money went? Not in this universe lifetime!

What evidence is your suspicion based on? Are you suggesting they committed fraud?
I know a City Council political campaign effort first-hand and know what they went though to be legal for the financing. I can see their complete income and expenses reported on a public city website. I see no reason why NYCCAN should be any different.
Which law did they break, exactly?
The money has to be reported *somewhere* and based on my experience with campaign races, quarterly.
If it isn't reported, it's illegal personal income to the IRS.

I'm not suggesting, I'm stating. NYCCAN has been nothing more than a begging-bowl for it's leaders, enabling them to obtain a free lunch for the past two years. If you doubt me, check back on what they were told at the very beginning of their campaign. This thread contains numerous illustrations of how they did not keep members informed of what had happened, until their hand was forced by posts on this Forum.
