Moderated What's wrong with porn?

Hey, but what if you combine the 2 and make a porn movie about a guy who delivers pizzas!

(If you use that idea, I want credit for it...)

YOU ARE A GENIUS!!!

I have to do that for my next shoot!!!

Why didn't anyone think of this before???

:D

The idea of women being citizens like men and the invention of contraception have not finished its influence on sexual morals.

A few hundred years ago decent girls were virgins at marriage, and prostitute were among the lowest of trades. We are or are heading for a society where women can have sex on equal footing with men and where prostitution and porn actress are honest trades.

In many (all?) animals breeding rights are quite important, and I would guess that something similar holds true for humans, our brains can overrule instincts, but they are still there.
Virgin or not would be rather significant for a woman looking for a mate/husband in a patrician society.

Women marketing themselves for the purpose of sex have been described by a multitude of names.

"Wife" cannot fairly be excluded from that list.

It is not unexpected that some buyers might prefer purchasing new rather than used.

Please note I am not advocating such a preference.

The wife marketing bit have mostly been done by the family.

Contraception have made tryouts much easier to arrange. :D

I expect/hope that society's view of prostitution and porn will change to that of a honest trade.
Kink.com were mentioned somewhere uptread, what I have seen from them looks like people having fun, and with work conditions like JFrankA* describes.

*Obviously not a student of modern management, happy well treated employees as the basis of a good production, how strange.:D

I don't think so. It's been quite a long time since arranged marriages have been particularly common in the U.S., but "catching a husband" has remained a common theme long after.

I think it is a heartening indication of the progress we have made in gender equality that women can feel less and less obligated to validate themselves by attracting a mate.

Not that there isn't plenty of room for further improvement.

Not sure how historicaly accurate this is though.

Well tryouts have gone from illegal to the norm.

Adultery* have been a crime, nowadays it is very unusual not to have sex with your girlfriend before marriage, or breakup.

*Or whatever the legal term was if none of the parties were married?

Well I was thinking of medieval Europe, and whatever the legal term there were strict limits on what you could do with your girlfriend.

As it has been mentioned here already, the range of porn styles has evolved to cover pretty much anything and it is nowadays illogical (and outdated) to claim that porn denigrates women. There is a series of porn videos called "strapon tryouts" where women dominate women with strap ons, and also they dominate men. There's a genre called "muscular women" where body builder women have sex with and "humilliate" men. we live in an era where the roles have not so much reversed but became equal. And yet, the one predominant aspect is that this is in general lines (with exceptions) a put on. No one's being humilliated, no more that Monica Bellucci was humilliated at "Irreversible" (In which she chose her husband to play the rapist because that's the only man she would do that scene with). It's a put on. It may look real but it isn't real.

Ever heard of "faking it"? ;)

[Fuelair calculates not enough time in his not that busy schedule to calculate all of these - even if you don't count loops or amateur stuff.]:D

"Maidenheads are for ploughboys!" Dr. Sam. Johnson:)

Let me change your perspective a little, if I may. How would you feel if a man is being degraded and humiliated by one or many different women? Would your feeling be the same for a man in that position as a woman?
Honestly JFA I don't see it working like this. I hope this doesn't come across as sounding male chauvenistic, but anything that portrays females as dominant over males (it doesn't have to be porn - it can be anything involving physicality)(Power Puff Girls?!) just doesn't cut it with me. I suppose that's because, in reality, it's essentially non-existent (well, at least in the public domain), and my ability to suspend disbelief to the extent that I can appreciate and enjoy a fictitious scenario seems to be very limited!

So I reckon there could be a more dominating gene in the male species that releases some sort of hormone or something at the thought of "taking advantage" of a woman (could this partly account for rape?). That's not to say many men don't get off on the idea of being sexually dominated, but on the rare occasion that I stumble upon such a video I certainly can't fix that in my mind as male abuse in the way I can the other way around. I haven't seen enough such videos to comment reliably, but I suspect that there are very few indeed where the male is portrayed (convincingly) as really not wanting to be in that situation, whereas most of those where the woman is dominated are, and indeed may well be, in many.

So here's the contentious part (and I'll choose my words even more carefully than usual!) - if you were to run a reliable poll I suspect you'd find that more people, generally, would express more disrespect for such porn actresses than actors and consider what they do is more demeaning to women than what porn actors do is to men (especially men, most of whom would probably crack open a beer and shout "Go buddy"! Can you really see women, generally, doing the same (with a chardonnay, say :o)?)

Wow. :eye-poppi You really haven't met enough women.

You are quite obviously extremely naive about what exists in reality.

And despite not wanting to "come across as sounding male chauvinistic" (note the spelling), you've not only done that, but shown yourself to be rather sexist as well.
