Evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth.

Sorry Doc, but you can see that there are far more posts against your evidence than for it, thus I have no option but to believe what Joobz, Hok, and Pax, et al. have posited in this thread.

Having about 180 skeptics in a thread, and maybe 2 or 3 Christians could be a reason.

Godless, by Dan Barker. Atheist Universe, by David Mills. Jesus Interrupted and Misquoting Jesus, by Bart D Ehrman. are a few. All are available at Amazon. I think you can buy them through this forum as well which gets a small cut from the proceeds.

I might add "Godless" by Ann Coulter, and "Misquoting Truth: A Guide to the Fallacies of Bart Ehrman's "Misquoting Jesus"" by Timothy Jones.

I don't know about it's impact on one's eternity, but I can say it makes one an idiot in this lifetime.

So are you calling Barack Obama who claims to be a devout Christian and to believe in the resurrection an idiot.

So? You've said that majority opinion is "most likely" correct. Since you're in the minority, aren't you "most likely" wrong? Or does your flimsy interpretation of logic have a double-standard?

Again with Obama "claiming" to be a devout Christian. I note you don't use that particular phrase for Jefferson, even though by your very own standards Obama is way more of a Christian than Jefferson ever was.

I therefore suspect that you've at least partially bought into some of the conspiracy theories about Obama being a "secret Muslim" or some such. Considering that you've also quoted Conservapedia in this thread, which has fully bought into those conspiracy theories, my suspicions seem to have some serious evidence behind them. Certainly much more evidence than you've presented for the historicity of the New Testament.

Sigh

It seems you are stupendously stubborn in your unwillingness to refrain from employing logical fallacies, this time performing a reverse Appeal to Popularity with a double twist

Please, stop bleating (like some sacrificial lamb) and start thinking:

If you have ANY credible evidence, please present it

Otherwise, please (re?)consider why you start threads on this forum

Either way, please note that - although beliefs (in myths, superstitions, etc) are influenced by hype, spin and lies - reality is NOT affected by fanciful notions

Still awaiting the new evidence.
I still haven't answered all the posts concerning the already given evidence.
Try this:

Thank you for debunking my woo and showing me, in no uncertain terms, that my beliefs are were founded on nothing more than wishful thinking. I am indebted to your peristent efforts, which have finally opened my eyes to reality to the point where I humbly acknowledge that everything I previously considered to be evidence is, in fact, nonsense

So... are you implying that Barack Obama is qualified to act as authority on theology?

(in the spirit of Hokulele)

I would rather have an intimate encounter with a sausage grinder.
I've done that.

She was a lovely girl, but grinding sausages all day left her a bit short on conversation.
