That's because the database only goes up to 2006 and Bentham Open seems to have been launched in 2007. But that was a good find because even as a traditional publisher Bentham was middling.

You have to pay to access all similar databases that I know of. Does anybody here know about free ones that are more current? Or alternately does anyone have acesses to the paiddatabases? I'm sure Bentham's journals are lowly rated but am not willing to subscribe to a database just to check.

Suggestion to a mod, can the posts about Bentham be moved to a more appropriate thread?

nano thermite doesn't exist...except in the minds of truthers.

ok, very small amounts of nano-thermite might exist, but it has NEVER been used to demolish a structure or building, let alone a 110 story steel skyscraper.

Well, you see, Galileo and the other truthers here on JREF have recently stated that it is no longer neccessary to submit any "thermite" samples to American university chem labs or to any American engineering or chemistry companies.

and why is this? cause the "analysis" done in Copenhagen is sufficient and more importantly, since ALL American universities would never do anything to upset the American govt', they would never reveal a positive result for such an analysis.

plus, all American engineering and chemical companies work for the NWO.

or..in other words..the Truthers are quite aware that any independent analysis by a reputable American university or engineering firm would obviously come up negative, and Truthers just can't handle another major defeat.

one must wonder..how much longer can this go on?

at what point do they just realize that they really can't achieve anything?

The whole reason truthers invented the thermite scenario was to account for the lack of evidence for explosives in the videos. Now if you want to claim explosive thermite you have to explain why there is no evidence of explosives in the videos, why no windows were blown out by the shock waves, etc etc.

In other words, this puts you right back where you started before the therm*te stupidity.

This is a powerful statement of credibility. I will join you on this.

I will publicly apologize if Steven Jones submits his samples for independent verification and this work is published in a major journal. In fact, if Jones has independent support for his claim from the scientific community, this would convince me that the US government or other powerful agents of control really were involved in the WTC collapse.

I think JREF should make a policy statement to this effect.

I think the problem here is that Niels Harrit has very little credibility on this issue. A claim of this magnitude would need numerous examinations. So far, the only claims of verification have come from individuals who, previous to their 'work' on nano-thermite, claimed they had issues with the WTC collapse. In that sense, there has been no independent assessment.

This is hardly a problem. There are many labs through Europe and Asia that could be used for this. America is hardly the only place in the world capable of such work.

I suggest we start by asking Steven Jones for a list of names of scientists and labs that he feels could be used for replication. Now I am quite sure he will not have these names as he his research background is completely outside of work on thermite, explosives, or nano-sized objects. And besides, even among people like Harriat, thermite has become irrelevant.

I'll overlook the fact that Bin Laden is not a yutz, nor was he living in a cave prior to the invasion of Afghanistan.

So, given that the whole thermite thing was invented by Jones et al to account for the fact that there were no explosives either seen or heard or recorded on 9/11, why are you now saying that there were explosives there?
 
Maybe you missed the part where I said nanothermite didn't exist in anything like adequate quantities in 2001. Even if it were an explosive, which it's not, there wasn't enough of it in the world to take down the towers.

Thermite: 4 kJ/g
Methane: 55 kJ/g

I propose that They smuggled a bunch of cows into the Towers and lit their farts. Lots more explosive energy there. And there's just as much evidence for it as there is for nanothermite.

Slowly now:

No... it... isn't... it's... a... fast... burning... high... temperature... incendiary.

Nanothermite, like any other formulation of thermite, cannot produce an explosive shockwave on its own because the thermite reaction doesn't produce any gases. It can be used to give the effect of a low velocity explosive by adding other materials, but this is simply a fast boiling or fast combustion reaction. Most importantly, it won't generate a Munroe effect, so it's useless for cutting steel in the manner of a shaped charge. All that the explosion is likely to do is to scatter the molten iron produced by the thermite reaction, thereby making it even less effective for melting or thermally weakening steel than a larger grain thermite formulation.
