I was only commenting on the technique used to get tears, a technique used all the time by actors and models. I wasn't making any judgment of value on any of these people. I was just pointing out how easily and uncritically some people can spin a non-story into a politically fueled lynching.

The guy only made a couple of pictures for a mag.

Actually Beck has emphasized on his show and elsewhere many times that he isn't a journalist.

His sincerity level reminds me of this poem - This is my Welcome To America greeting that I meant to post for Doc A long ago, as I know he loves his verse and I have a pretty good inkling that his politics and cummings' may be a little similar in certain respects.

As I said, apparently he was in on this joke and thus the joke is turned on the idjits who Youtubed and circulated this as some sort of revelation. But, that doesn't change the fact that Glenn Beck is a considerably reprehensible representative of that political party masquerading as broadcast network.

How did what get out? The photo shoot? I don't think anyone would be dumb enough to assume he was actually crying for this.

You realize this was a self-deprecatory publicity thing, don't you?

I'll never understand how crying on screen (not as an actor) can cultivate a good image. Surely political / social affairs commentators should be able to argue their point without the hysterics? It just comes across as a cheap and insincere way of persuading people to agree with him. Fair enough a one off you can excuse, but to be known for it is another matter.

To think he is a multi millionaire and living a life of luxury.....

OK, I get it. He was using the vaporub for the photo shoot but claims the tears on his talk show were real. I assumed the video was during a make up prep for the show. I couldn't figure out why he was making such stupid faces.

But, yeah... I admitted already falling into the same trap. I'd sure love to have believed it was True Confessions time, but he was aware of the intent of the shoot and that's what the mentholatum was all about from the outset.
