I just wanted to respond to the discussion I mostly missed about the income tax and whatnot. Although it's true that the 16th amendment was ratified, the whole thing is a red herring. All the 16th amendment did was lift certain restrictions on certain types of taxes. It didn't create any power to tax. That was created (as some folks already pointed out) in the original Constitution, Art. I, Sec. 8. And of course, as has been pointed out, Congress exercised the power to tax when it passed the law that is now encoded at 26 U.S.C. s. 1.
So even if Especially were right about the 16th amendment, it doesn't make him right about taxes.
