Merged National Geographic Special - "9/11 Science and Conspiracy" Debunks Thermite Myth

Thanks to all of you who offered information and suggestions re: torrents. I tried the first suggestion, utorrent, last night and downloaded the show, but when I tried to play it today, I could only get audio, no video. So, today, I got Vuze and then downloaded the show again and it is working.

Cheers,
Lash

You have a "CODEC" problem as I frequently do. The CODEC is the software that encodes/decodes the audio/video and there seems to be countless flavors. All I can do it try all the media players on my machine amnd maybe one works.

VLC Media player (open source) is the closest to universal I've found.
www.videolan.org.

Also, search a torrent site for "Klite codec". It's a package of many codecs both common and uncommon and it usually works on anything.

Yay! Resolution is only so-so, but at least the guy uploaded for us poor Canucks.

Got done watching the 9pm-11pm run

Some points

  • Truthers throw out "official story" about a dozen times the first few minutes.
  • In experiment 1, steel beam fails in < 4 minutes. Dylan Avery responds by biting his fingernails (I'm dead serious--it's freaking disgusting).
  • Gage and Grifter were hapless trying to explain a "secret controlled demolition"
  • Experimenters could not get thermite to cut a steel column--Jones and company respond, "well, it wasn't super-thermite."
  • Pentagon conspiracy theories, which Gage and Griffin apparently support, get torn to shreds. Griffin looks a fool again.
  • Aaronvich had a nice recapitulation.

ETA: No one mentioned Dylan's biting his fingernails on national TV. How gross and embarrassing.

We here on the jref on both sides knew it would be a hit piece before it was ever made. It was only a question of the details and what they would try to stress. The underlying message in other words.

I could go on about how unrepresentative the 'forensic' testing was (by their own admission no less) but we expected that anyway. I could ask why they didn't edit out the bit where the guy said that the 15 or 20 floors that fell weighed 'hundreds of thousands of tons' or why despite the extensive descriptions of the hot fires on the impacted floors why no mention was ever made of the totally intact cold hard steel of the lower 90% of the building.

But it was the take-away message that really interested me. And that was the pop-science analysis of Truthers needing to believe in a conspiracy for quasi-religious reasons among others. The fact that this is a widespread phenomenon in broad sections of the population to whom enhanced reality is more attractive than real reality. After all up to 75% of the American populaton believed that Roosevelt knew about Pearl Harbour in advance. A similar high proportion for the Kennedy conspiracy and so on. As I said it was very interesting and revealing in this context.

People do a lot of weird stuff on camera. Editors usually cut stuff like that out, unless they have some reason to make the subject look bad.

Is there among you guys ANYONE who could make the statement: "I know that there have been false flag ops before.

I know that there have been false flag ops before.

And I sure do believe, that people behind Bush such as Cheney, Rummy, Bush Sr., Ashcroft, Wolfowitz and many others are the most evil scum on earth and could pull this off with secret branches of CIA/FBI as their servants

No, I can't honestly say I believe they are the most evil scum on earth. There are others far worse. It's possible that a sufficently secret and sufficiently capable organisation could carry out an attack such as that carried out on 9/11 and place the blame on some other group of people. Is that near enouigh for you, or are you only prepared to listen to those who agree with every detail of your own subjective and highly questionable moralistic pronouncements?

but I don't think there's any proof of it."

I would go way beyond this, and make the positive assertion that there is no proof of it.

Please feel free to proceed with the next stage of your pathetic game.

Dave

Interesting comment.... from your posts here, I assume that you think that instead of showing Dylan chewing his nails, they should have devoted the time to discussing the more powerful and compelling evidence, such as the DNA evidence at the Pentagon?

Don't you agree Red?

I am gonna be honest Red. I do not for the most part include you in the same group as DRG, Gage, and Avery.

I actually am glad NG presented them like that. I am glad they made them look like the paranoid snake oil salesmen that they are. Call it a hit job...ok. They deserve it. Are there others in the TM who perhaps do not deserve such a hit piece? Perhaps. Are there others who have legit questions about the attacks. Yes. DRG and Gage are neither of these.

For me, the only thing that would have made the special better would be to put Alex Jones up there in one of his raving lunacy diatribes.

These guys are the vocal, visible leadership of what is left of the TM. Like it or lump it...or better yet, change it!

Editing is extremely subjective. Even still, I didn't see DRG or Gage acting particularly strange or paranoid. I said earlier in this thread that Gage is not an effective public speaker. I'm also not surprised that they gave far more time to Avery than to Jones.

Then you must be absolutely SHOCKED at the lack of discussion of the compelling evidence of the DNA at the Pentagon, right Red?

There's no other possible result when just one side has all the facts and evidence and expertise, and the other is a collection of dropouts and loony tunes.

Speaking of looking bad RedIbis, what do you think about all the remains of Flight 77s passengers and crew found inside the Pentagon, and identified via DNA testing?

You keep flying away from this question for some reason...
