Usually the person answering the phones doesn't have much authority in determining whether or not charges will be dropped.

Maybe watch a few episodes of "Law & Order". It might clear up some of your confusion about how the American legal system works.

You said, "I spoke to the SAO today", which is the State Attorney's Office. It wasn't really an unreasonable question.

Either way - thank you for clarifying. One more - do you know for sure if this guy was charged as a juvenile? Or was he charged as an adult?
 
Hey Tri, good story, and who the hell cares if a couple wackos on the internet don't believe you? No amount of evidence will sway their biases, and I got to tell you, some of the truthers here are downright creepy--trying to locate a poster here against their wishes should be against the rules.

Whole lot of time wasted on both "sides". Let's skip to the end. Tri eventually shakes his head in disgust at the lack of reading comprehension and leaves the thread, truthers label Tri as an obvious shill because he had too much information. Let's see how close I am in another 8 pages.

Why is it important to you who he spoke with? Seems like a reasonable question.
 
All he needs to do is prove it. Or don't bring it up. As a debunker he should stick to the debunker standard set by debunkers. Or shut up. And that's not just about his little altercation but every other tall tale he has posted about.

I don't believe it either.

On what planet does "awaiting verification" = "exposed as a fabrication"? I get that you are embarrassed by this, you should be, but you're not doing yourself any favors by ignoring it. You take tri to task for not backing up his statements with evidence and then you basically do the same thing?

Do you think that by admitting to making a misstatement, you'll be opening yourself up to ridicule or something? I have news for you; the horse is already out of the barn and on a boat to Hawaii on that one. Actually, I suspect that people's respect here for you would increase a thousandfold if you could for once just man up and admit you made a mistake.

This isn't a question of semantics; in no way, shape or form was tri's story "exposed as a fabrication" and you know it. Please just admit it so we can move on. It would be the wise and mature thing to do.

For the record... as far as I'm concerned the perp is anonymous and not all court cases or legal incidents are publicized on the news. I can say that from experience serving in jury duty this past May because of the case I was serving in. Most cases are small, and probably aren't going to be publicized on news networks if they're relatively minor. Without any further information I can only take tri's testimony at face at value, he's not identifying anyone specifically by name and there's no reason to think that there aren't crazies that would go out and harass other people that way. And nothing he's said so far gives any indication that he's fabricating anything.

I'm not quite sure what has redibis, and deep44 tied up all in knots about this. The only reason I can think red would actively be trying to state his story as a fabrication is that he's taking it personally as if tri is attempting to characterize all CT nuts as being this way. Why, I haven't a clue... Redibis already has critical thinking issues with how he applies analogies relating to precedents, and how he interprets eye witness testimony. So seeing some of these people interjecting in this very fashion here isn't surprising.

These are both misdemeanors, as I urged them to reduce his charges to that level. I did not want to see a VERY stupid misstake ruining this kids whole entire life. A felony would do exactly that.

I will be posting a sanitized copy of the police report here as soon as I get it, and I will be posting a mostly unsanitized report to the MODS for verification, but I must get approval of the SAO to release it, as this case is a juvenille case, and certain laws apply differently to juvies.

When you post something as fact, and it is proven without a shadow of a doubt to be a lie, it is best to retract that statement. It is the honorable thing to do.

If my story could be proven to be a lie (Which it cannot, as it is 100% true) I would immeadiatly retract my statement, as it would be the honorable thing to do.
