Non-existent hell no.

Back, back with ye, non-existant Satan. The power of good taste compels you!!!You're missing out on witnessing an indoctrinatated LDS woman project her "sanctioned" fantasies onto unsuspecting teens, tweens, and other demographics via a mediocre plot line and uninspired writing!
Seriously, with a review like that, why are you still sitting there, reading this instead of going out to buy all Meyer's books in hardback!?![]()

God seems pretty constrained for a purported all powerful being.
Yes, but the physician Luke, who was Paul's traveling companion and the author of the Book of Acts, could have very easily been a 1st hand witness to these miracles performed by the apostles which are recorded in the Book of Acts.
From the article: The Miracle Narratives in the Acts of the Apostles

So we have the physician Luke (who was a traveling companion of Paul and who Sir Ramsay says is one of the world's great historians) reporting the above apostles' miracles in the same matter of fact manner that he reports 87 highly detailed facts that we know are true.
As Hokulele mentioned, it depends on the situation. If you ever go to court for a speeding ticket tell the judge you didn't know what the speed limit was and see if that works.
...Are you implying he witnessed the miracles in the gospel? Life expectancy in the Roman empire was likely 35, though that is weighed down by high child mortality. The majority who made it to 15 died by 50. He would have had to be 55 minimum to have witnessed the miracles personally as a 20 year-old...
And regarding age, some of the oldest living people on the planet today have no contact with modern society or modern medicine.

Dr. Oz and The Blue Zones Author discuss on ‘Oprah’ how to live longer - Secrets of longevity around the World -- by Nicole Wilson
Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica is located deep in the rainforest. Dr. Oz traveled to the first blue zone and showed how he traveled to this location. There are hundreds of centurions. Dan showed Dr. Oz showed how the people lived their lives. They hiked a long ways off the road, and were being rained on to get to the where all these centurions lived. They interviewed a man that is almost 108 years old. Dan said that the water is important because it has hard water, and because of the calcium and magnesium builds strong bones. There are no nursing homes, they live with there family. There is no electricity.

DOC, Do you agree with Jesus that it is acceptable to BEAT servants(slaves)?
Do YOU believe in the context of the story that it is ok to BEAT SLAVES?Joobz you are not telling the whole story
In Luke 12:47 a slave was put in charge of other slaves, then got drunk and beat other slaves while his master was away (which is what happened in the parable Jesus metioned). I agree with Jesus that this person should be harshly punished for his terrible actions that physically hurt several other people. Of course in modern society, he would be arrested and spend time in jail, which is what I would agree with. But back then it would probably be unlikely to send a slave to jail for beating other slaves so other punishments were done to get the point across not only to the slave but other slaves.
Jesus also said in this parable that some slaves would be rewarded and be given control over everything the master owns. How many slaves in the old south do you think were given control over all that his master owned?
Worked for me too.If you ever go to court for a speeding ticket tell the judge you didn't know what the speed limit was and see if that works.

why are you so obviously avoiding the question?

OMG! There are hundreds of commanding officers of ancient Roman centuries?![]()

(century: in the ancient Roman army, a company, consisting of approximately 100 men) Those people are a LOT older than 100 years!
ETA: how the hell did those centurions get from Italy to Costa Rica?
I would be suspicious of any purported "scientific" report that didn't know the difference between there and their, or between centenarian and centurion. But then, I would be suspicious of most any purported "scientific" report that you posted.
The article was a writer speaking about a TV show episode which included a Doctor, the article by the writer was not a scientific report.
So you agree that a slave should be beat.In the context of the story the disobedient slave who knew he was going against his master's will beat "several" menservants and "several" maidens. If I was alive at that time and had a 1st century mindset I don't know what I would have done.
Exactly. It used slavery as a example of how we are treated by god. Jesus simply accepted Slavery as a perfectly normal way of life. Hardly moral, wouldn't you agree? Oh wait, I guess not.But the purpose of the parable was not to analyze the institution of slavery. The purpose of the parable was to say there will be definite punishment for violating God's laws. And it would seem that the parable would definitely get point across to those of a first century mindset.
Exactly, dead serious that we are slaves to god.Christ was being dead serious - there is a price to pay for going against God's rules.
Again, thank you for admitting you think beating slaves are acceptable (at least when Jesus says it's ok).If Christ truly believed (and there were no translation errors and he wasn't just speaking in ways those of a 1st century mindset could understand in order to get his point across) that the situation he was talking about (where the knowingly disobedient slave beat "several" menservants and beat "several" maidens) called for this one slave to given some lashes as punishment in this one case then I would also believe that this specific incident in the 1st century called for this slave (who beat several menservants and who beat several maidens) to be given some lashes.
In all fairness, I will make their/there mistake from time to time and I know the science I publish is of very reliable, high quality. But of course, you don't need to rely on my opinion. I allow my data to speak for themselves.I would be suspicious of any purported "scientific" report that didn't know the difference between there and their, or between centenarian and centurion.
And regarding age, some of the oldest living people on the planet today have no contact with modern society or modern medicine. And Moses, Abraham, and the apostle John all lived to a very old age.

So that's a no on the evidence of your original claim? The article was a writer speaking about a TV show episode which included a Doctor, the article by the writer was not a scientific report.
