Getting fed at TAM 7

Just trying to let everyone know what their options are without passing judgement on taste without regard to what that involves, friend. There are a couple options on the latenight list that aren't fast food chains so I'm not sure what your complaint is.

Ichiban has a semi-private room, and since it looks like there will be enough diners, I may try to call them in advance and see if we can get that room to ourselves. If Mom is going to try and gross people out, we may as well protect the innocent bystanders.

I would be and seems delish, but I've got one about a mile from where I live and a 4 star one (out of 5) within a few miles...

...and I've also got 4 different churrascarias within 10 miles of me, but I have a harder time affording or getting to them during business hours. If you two and Patricio can agree on a time, I'll be there. :)

As someone who has been to an as authentic sushi place in the U.S. as Ichiban is likely to be, what exactly will she do to gross people out? The best I could do was during TAM 2 and make Wyvern (IIRC) freak out with the dancing octopus I produced from my paella.
 
Well, if I limited myself to eating only cuisines I could not also get in Sydney I would not be eating anything.

That will depend on whether she orders the white snot (tororo) or the purple snot (I forget what the hell that was).

:) Point taken... though I'm sure you couldn't get chicken fried steak and mashed potatos with cream gravy in Sydney, but you could in Vegas.

Anyone who has eaten raw oysters wouldn't be turned off by expectorant or nasal effluvia on short grained rice... depending on how tasty it was.

True, there is not much authentic soul food here. Which is partially why I am going to Memphis after I leave Vegas so I can eat it three meals a day. :D

The jelly-like substance made from grating the yam, tororojiru (Japanese: とろろ汁), is often served in, or alongside, a number of other dishes. Interestingly, perhaps, this was widely used in the Edo period as a personal lubricant for sexual activities, and it was thus considered improper for it to be eaten by a woman. This aversion also derives from the loud slurping sound one makes when eating it, which is considered to be un-ladylike[1]. However, now in Japan, it is usually accepted that women eat tororojiru with that kind of sound.

One bit of bad news: Last year we saw an almost-open Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza just up the road from South Point (those of you at TAM 5.5 might have fond memories of the one we invaded on the last day).

We went by there today only to find no sign of it; in fact a new California Pizza Kitchen was now in the plaza, which leads me to believe Anthony's ain't happening.

Do we have any suggestions for places on Wednesday? Or, for that matter, Saturday or Monday? We left those spots available just on speculation, but is there anyone actually interested in a special dinner/lunch somewhere those days?

I'm in town Wednesday, so I'd be up for some coordinated dinner action, if anyone has a good suggestion. Otherwise, we could just plan to meet somewhere in the South Point, and choose one of their venues.
