Personally, I believe the the crazier elements of the 9/11 Truth movement were largely weaved into being by the government itself as a type of misdirection (maybe even a little agent provocateurism)
The 9/11 truth movement seems to have started off by people with good intentions trying to make sense of some of the events that happened on 9/11 that didn't seem to add up... Then from there it would almost seem as if it was "hijacked" and before you know it increasingly crazier theories surfaced from remote controlled-planes, controlled-demolition, holographic planes, to magical nano-thermite and stuff...
It would almost seem as if certain people in the government basically hijacked the movement, steering them towards crazier and crazier theories and speculations, so as to discredit anybody who has any questions about 9/11 (even if the questions are, hypothetically legitimate) and goading people towards increasingly aggressive behavior and even acts of violence (agent provocateur) so as to crack down on the entire group labeling them as dangerous "domestic terrorists"
It makes more sense than holographic planes, and nano-thermite, and some of the more extreme actions of some 9/11 conspiracy theorists (Keep in mind there are a lot of people throughout the USA who hold a large variety conspiracy theory type beliefs, some plausible, and some that are totally bonkers and are not realistic at all, who usually do not engage in acts of violence.).
