LIVE Million Dollar Challenge Test

So the test is really two tests and the JREF MDC gets to change things between the two tests provided the claimant jumps thru the first hoop successfully? Correct?
So the first one requires absolutely NO RISK on the part of the JREF .... Right ... So it really ISN'T a million dollar challenge since the million is not "UP FOR GRABS" as randi always says?

no, not correct....read the rules.

Calling this The Million Dollar Challenge is just SILLY!!!!

Let's just pretend that in order to get into the Daytona 500 you have to win another Nascar race. (It's actually a point thing, but lets just pretend)

They certainly don't call the other race ..THE DAYTONA 500 do they now ... That would be false advertising ... just as this is :)

Well, according to the title of this thread, it's not called "The Million Dollar Challenge," it's called a "Million Dollar Challenge Test."

So your objection is silly. As is the norm.

RIGHT :)

A Million Dollar Challenge test with NO MILLION DOLLARS :)

Right :)

Just SILLY! (And false advertising as usual)

Nah...its more like the Masters...you have to prove you can play golf reasonably before you get invited.

Learn to play golf.

Or the qualifiers at the olympics. It's still the olympics and people still watch the qualifiers.

Seems to me, though you might have been an applicant, you actually have NEVER read the MDC rules, or completely fail to understand them. The process of preliminary challenge and final challenge are clearly stated.

Isn't that one of the hidden purposes of those rules, though? To eliminate people who are too confused to be taken seriously, I mean.

Actually, they do Dave. It's called qualifying. People have to qualify for the Daytona 500, just as people have to qualify for the MDC. If you don't qualify, you don't get to race. If you don't pass the preliminary test, you don't get to the challenge. If you had to drive 200 mph to qualify for the Daytona 500 and no one did that, then there wouldn't be any drivers in the race, but it's still called the Daytona 500. If you have to pass preliminary tests for the MDC, but no one does, then there wouldn't be any participants for the challenge, but it's still called the million dollar challenge. The only difference is, if no one qualified for the 500 at 200 mph, then they would lower the standards. You can't do that with extraordinary claims.
Will you ever give up?
Wag

Is this person a Stoog sent in by the JREF?
Seems like you'd want the JREF MDC to bring the money. Why would you do it for free?

Wait a minute...you mean, after all this time, you still haven't read the rules?

Are you really a professor? Or is it just false advertising?

TAM advertises to millions of folks who have never read the rules. When they call it a MILLION DOLLAR CHALLENGE TEST ... some folks actually believe that a million bucks is being risked ... When WE know that isn't the case. The JREF risks nothing at TAM.

So the advertisement is totally misleading just like it was at DragonCon.

Reminds me of the ASTERISK HUNTER commercials.

The JREF has a big * :)
