Sean Hannity offers to be waterboarded for charity

My doctor is a holistic physician with patients from around the world, so, you probably should use another analogy.
So you believe in the effectiveness of reiki, homeopathy and torture?

Then thaiboxerken's analogy was better than he knew.

But at the same time, I mean reputable people of intellect.
Please name the torturers whom you feel fall into this category.

You are bringing up extreme examples of where torture was completely uncalled for and hurtful, and uncessary. The worst case scenario and strongest admonition of torture.

I don't think it's fair to keep going to that side of the argument, anymore so than I was when I was chastised for suggesting that torturing someone who knows the location of a bomb if valid. Someone screemed at me "there is no bomb, stop making that argument!". I think this cuts both ways.
Except that the witch-hunts and Stalin's terror, where torture provably produced millions of false statements --- well, those were real. They actually happened.

Whereas episodes of 24 are imaginary.

If you believe that the three detainees waterboarded by the CIA is the worst breech of U.S. morals and ethics in the last 70 years then you live in a cloistered world.
I swear, Cicero, you are the JREF unrivaled champion at creating strawmen.

So you actually base your lifestyle on logical fallacy, that's fine. I prefer to base mine off of evidence-based methodology. Reiki and homeopathy are BS and don't work, they are ineffective and unreliable. So is torture. There is no scientific evidence to support the position that any of those methods are reliable.

FYI, your logical fallacy is this, it's an appeal to tradition. Just because something is old and still being used, doesn't mean it actually works.

An abundance of polysyllabic words, yet, nothing of substance. My physician is both a homeopath as well as an internist, a medical doctor. He successully treats patients who have been failed by mainstream medicine. Your opinion is worthless in this regard.

If this wasn't utter hogwash, this doctor of yours could win the JREF million.

I look forward to seeing your challenge application thread.

I know from personal experience that homeopathy works. It saved my life. Literally. It's not hogwash.

Mark, you are the one making claims that are contrary to what we know through science. Feel free to help the world, the medical community, and the scientific community gain some greater knowledge by showing that homeopathy really works. You can make a million dollars in the process. But, of course, you won't. You have no evidence to support your assertions, just silly anecdotes that cannot be verified.......just like the anecdotes by the torturers that you named earlier.

You are disputing a highly credible and legitimate school of medicine, practiced by eminent physicians such as Harvard Medical School-trained Dr. Andrew Weil, and, many others. You have lost this debate in short order. Stay healthy.

Then, my excellent health is a delusion.

Again, you have shown no evidence and only have given anecdotes. This is a skeptic's forum, evidence is highly recommended when you make absurd claims. If you're so confident that homeopathy works, why haven't you applied for the JREF challenge yet? Randi is stated that homeopathy is a paranormal claim and will pay anyone who demonstrates that it actually works.

Your faith-based arguments simply do not withstand any logical scrutiny, whether it's about torture or homeopathy. I need evidence to be convinced.

I respect Randi, but, when it comes to homeopathy, he is wrong.
