The Truth of Christianity vs. All Other Belief Systems

God is the one who reveals the truth to us and He doesn't lie!

Perhaps not, but he does harden hearts so that people don't get the message. I think that must be what has happened here. Like Pharoah of old, every time someone on JREF starts thinking that maybe God's messengers might be speaking the truth, God hardens our hearts against them.

Such is our destiny. Amen.

Also, what was the point of punishing Adam and Eve? It seemed to be more out of fear than anything else. He wanted them out of the garden before they got more powerful than they already were.

He was getting rid of potential competition, not acting like the all-good almighty Father. I call shenanigans.

God's reaction to the tower of Babel is quite telling, actually.

Genesis 11 said:
And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

Sounds like fear to me.

Yeah, given by itself, the Tower of Babel is pretty silly. I mean, I know that it's just a metaphor for God vs. the Babylonian gods, but still. "How dare you come closer to heaven? I must punish you for almost getting up to my level!"

Because my dear Ladewig God has undoubtedly opened my eyes and the lies of this world are quite obvious to those of us who have been born again of the Spirit. The truth of Christianity is Jesus himself.

God is the one who reveals the truth to us and He doesn't lie! We know God through His Word and by accepting Jesus, there truly is no other way to the Father!!

We really need a "blah, blah, blah, blah" smilie for KK. Like this :tr:

I always thought it was the mythic explanation for the origin of languages.

Well aren't we glad we can pray and ask God to change hearts and save souls? We must remember that we are not the ones who can save anybody, it's Jesus who saves, we just try to point the way for others so they can get free from the bondage of sin.

As for th OP topic on the Truth of Christianity, I like what Mark Driscoll says here on Jesus verses religion... http://www.squidoo.com/marshillsermons you need to scroll down to the you tube and press play. I would really like to here what you thought of this message as it does pertain to the topic of this thread?

"We must remember" something that's false?

Maybe you are glad...

Many of us, instead, are simply dismayed and wonder why you persist in spamming this thread with inane, unsubstantiated nonsense

He is so very close!

Here is a little snippet of a sermon (via Podcast) for you:
Jesus vs. Religion

The difference between Jesus and religion explained by Pastor Mark Driscoll. Taken from the 06/10/2007 sermon 'Religion and Revival', part of the Nehemiah sermon series available at http://www.marshillchurch.org/media/nehemiah/
He - like all liars for jesus - FAILS, simply because he makes an erroneous distinction based on his own need to pretend that he has the one true woo

Pastor Mark Driscoll said:
Jesus leads to humble, comfortable joy
He conveniently overlooks that promoting 'ignorant, stupid, delusional, ridiculous superstition' is merely a recipe for yet more 'ignorant, stupid, delusional, ridiculous superstition' - something the world has more than enough of already, thanks

Unless everybody here is miraculously finds the Lord and agrees with you then you really *don't* want to hear (correct spelling BTW) what we think of anything. Please stop pretending otherwise.

It clearly didn't work for you. You perpetually lie. Considering that when discussing Satan, the Bible says lies are his first language, you might want to think again about who you claim you're here to uphold before us.

In fact, were I you, I would pass on further discussion of Jesus. Your reputation has demonstrated you do not know the man. If anything, you're actions and words demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge of what Jesus represented to anyone. As you sit around waiting for your god to return, I'm reminded that Paul said "They that do not work, neither shall they eat."

No, Kathy, you don't want to hear anything that contradicts anything you have to say. You are utterly worthless in any discussion. Frankly, I wish you would simply quit your little game of hit and run posting, of lying, of smearing the Christians I know and respect. If it were up to me, I'd be in Sonora tomorrow, discussing your disgusting posts with your pastor. If he is any sort of a minister, he'd ask you to SHUT UP.

Frankly, if there were any justice, you would wind up in the hell you're wishing on the rest of us. Go rot, Troll.

Wasn't he the guy who participated in that "debate" where his partner was a reformed prostitute and on the other side were Deepak Chopra and some ex-cleric? He appeared "simple" there, as he does in that video you linked to.

I think I'm starting to "get it" about you, KK. You have forfeited your ability to think to Jesus.

Hey, it pays for the mansion, Mercedes, and 100" Plasma screen. :)

It has occurred to me that KK has placed some of us on ignore, hence she's incapable of answering any of our questions. Perhaps if we keep on tearing apart her "arguments," she'll eventually have everyone on ignore.

I have respect for very few Christians, and not because believing in an old man in the sky is ridiculous. It is their hypocricy. Even those that only believe in the New Testament and believe they have no need to not round the corners of their hair and beard or not eat certain food or not wear clothes with certain made of certain fibres are mostly hypocrites.

If JC was alive today I think he would be a ranting socialist, because he was definitely non-materialistic and believed that a camel had more chance of passing through the eye of a needle than of a rich man getting into the kingdom of God.

But look at mainstream Western values, and the system is run mainly by so-called Christians. My boy was watching an American kids TV program yesterday which showed the mansions and toys of very rich kids, who seemed to be good God-fearing Americans.

The logic behind it is that it is glorious to be very rich and that it is something all kids should subscribe to. Nothing was mentioned of the starving Third World. Most Christians make me sick, although I do have a socialist Christian mate who is an exception.

Television production is most viable when it endorses the funding and, although 'public broadcasting' programmes aren't always endorsed by the public, commercial television must be compatible with the aims of the advertisers

For the most part, the New Testament is merely an infomercial aimed at those unable to sleep straight through the night
