If the Palestinians adopted non-violent protest against the Israeli Occupation, there would be an independent State of Palestine in the West Bank, with East Jerusalem as its capital in less then a year.

A non-violent Palestinian society is Israel's worst nightmare.

Problem is, this will never happen. Its a wet-dream that will never come to fruition primarily due to the fact that Islam, which form the majority of the Palestinian population, do not adhere to any modicum of 'non-violent protest'. Quite the oxymoron.

IIRC Egypt, under US pressure, replaced all their security personnel along the Gaza border. The new guys aren't on the take apparently.
