Thermitic Pyrotechnics in the WTC Made Simple

The scientific team found thermite. Look at the last sentence of the abstract.

No.

The "scientific team" claimed they found thermite, Galileo. The distinction is subtle but important.

If Jones, et al were genuinely interested in characterizing and identifying the components of their dust samples, they would have submitted them to professionals who make their living doing that exact thing, namely to an organization such as McCrone Associates http://www.mccroneassociates.com

I can take a random dust sample from any sidewalk and spin you out a wonderful fantasy based on the EDX spectra of the contents. But that's not how it's done. I'll go for the MDC and predict Jones & Company will not let their samples anywhere near people like those at McCrone who actually know how to do this kind of analysis.

Greg Urich (not sure of spelling) posted links to nano-thermite reseacrh by the U.S. military in another thread.

Your statement that nano-thermite is a buzzword invented by the truth movement is false.

I did a search and found no such post. Can you direct me to it?

I searched by his name, gregoryurich, and included words such as "nano-thermite", "thermite", "military", and "research". I have found no threads with links to what you claim.

By volume? By weight? What's the total amount of dust estimated to be?

by mass. I do not have the total amount of WTC dust estimates in front of me, but I know that calculations have been done.

I'm pretty sure that the total amount of dust is close to the total mass of the WTC minus the mass of the steel.

If anyone else has the numbers, please post them.

29 If you find that you are being beaten, you can create a diversion--that is, you can suddenly begin to talk of something else, as though it had a bearing on the matter in dispute.

Perhaps you should explore the remaining 37 options for a change.

ETA: By the way, no. 34 is an interesting addition to the list. It's suggesting that there's something invalid about pointing out fatal flaws in your opponent's argument. 34 is actually a valid way to win an argument. How many more of those are in the list?

Concerning Hoffman's summary of the paper, (a) the paper has been discussed, criticised and shown to be fatally flawed in other threads, in particular the posts by Sunstealer, which I suggest all lurkers serach for and read; (b) Hoffman himself has inserted his own interpretation into the summary, going beyond the conclusions of the original paper; and (c) Galileo has himself further interpreted Hoffman, making further unsupported claims which he declines to justify. In particular, Galileo is claiming that a thermite reaction can persist for 14 weeks, an extraordinary claim, and advancing no evidence in support of that claim.

Dave

Sunstealer should publish his findings in a peer reviewed scientific journal.

I am not sure of the spelling. I thought it was "GregoryUrich".

Does anyone else know the correct spelling for sure?

Nice derail. How do you think 100 tons of thermite could continue to react for 14 weeks? I've given you enough information to formulate a hypothesis. I'm sure you can find densities for Fe2O3 and Al on the internet. Please back up your claim or withdraw it.

Were calculations done that showed how the distribution of these heavier chips of material were less in the samples taken from further away?

He should, but here is why it would not get published...because his findings about the Harrit paper would have to include mention of the Harrit paper, and mentioning the Harrit paper in any "mainstream" publication is not to be allowed.

If that were to happen it would spread the Harrit paper much more quickly to the world and open more eyes much more quickly. Anyone ever wonder why the "experts" here on JREF said they would not even attempt to publish anything debunking Harrit? Well there you have it.

You think that 100 tonnes of thermite wouldn't cause the 14-week fires, but you also think that the office fires from the tops of the WTC burrowed underground and stayed on fire for 14 weeks.

Explain how fires at the top burrowed underground and stayed lit for 14 weeks.

It is gregoryurich. I found other posts by him. Plus, when you do a search of the forums, if you type a user name in, it autofills.

I do not follow your logic. SteveAustin did not assert that his post was a logical proof that 9/11 was an inside job.

My mistake. For a minute there, I thought this was a 9/11 Conspiracy Theory forum.

Galilao, are you ever going to answer my question?

You state that steel framed buildings do not collapse from office fires. Why do they fireproof columns/beams then?

I don't have those calculations in front of me. I believe they found that the thermite density was about the same even at the more distant points, as most of it was very small particles.

I would consult the paper.

Exactly, because it's the work of a handful of posters on an obscure message board that prevent the Truth Movement from being acknowledged by the mainstream scientific community.

Fireproofing is required by building codes.

Administering reality one small dose at a time.

Nothing put them out.

Office contents burn more slowly than thermite. I welcome you to take 1lb of thermite and 1lb of paper, plastic, etc and compare the time each takes to burn.

there were fires in the basement as well

and the fires stayed lite for 14 weeks the same way mine fires stay lit for years
