I've been dying to see that exhibit! $34.00, though...it will depend on how empty my wallet is by the time I leave for Vegas.

Last time we were in Vegas we had a 2-fer-1 coupon for this. Unfortunately I can't remember where we got it, but they're out there and I bet someone working at the hotel might have a suggestion.

They give away coupons like that at most hotels, with your room package. Which ones you get depends a lot on which company owns the hotel. You can also get them from guys on the Strip, who may or may not be handing them out in exchange for tips.
 
New JREF member, TAM virgin coming late to the party here, but I'm up for pretty much anything which leads to the possibility of new skeptical friends!

Quarks would be a hoot. I'm also planning on the Skepchick party and whatever else (probably not bowling) seems "fun" at the time.

I like being flexible. ;-)
 
I'd like to sign up for stuff, but to do so I need someone to point out which of the above options represent cheap entertainment. (Is there such a thing in Las Vegas?)

Well, the Nukes tour is a museum. There is an entrance fee, but it wasn't too expensive. Guns is expensive, and gets more so as you realize how damn fun it is!

Hutch can advise us how much the bowling and Roller Coasters are.

Poker buy-in is usually $40-50.

Quark's is a dinner and drinks kind of thing, so expect to pay what you would at any moderately-priced restaurant.

The Skepchick Party is BYOB, and they pass a hat to help pay for the space, but no one keeps track of that, as far as I've seen.

To the official maintainer of "The List," I'm up for Quarks, the Skepchick party (I presume I'm weird enough to have made it to the official list), and maybe the roller coaster thing.

I also want to try and stay flexible, you just in case something spontaneous/unexpected and completely made of awesome comes up! ;)

Unless it's "Body Worlds" by Gunther von Hagen it's a knock-off and usually uses bodies from China with questionable origin (criminals put to death, homeless people that died).

I for one wouldn't want to support that.

But, if it's a von Hagen show, I'd be all over that.

Ok..just double checked and the web site says: "The...specimens are persons who lived in China and died of natural causes.After the bodies were unclaimed at death, pursuant to Chinese law, they were ultimately delivered to a medical school...Where known, information about the identities, medical histories, and causes of death are kept strictly confidential."

The Chinese Bureau of Police may receive bodies from Chinese prisons. Premier cannot independently verify that the human remains you are viewing are not those of persons who were incarcerated in Chinese prisons.

-This exhibit displays full body cadavers as well as human body parts, organs, fetuses and embryos that come from cadavers of Chinese citizens or residents. With respect to the human parts, organs, fetuses and embryos you are viewing, Premier relies solely on the representations of its Chinese partners and cannot independently verify that they do not belong to persons executed while incarcerated in Chinese prisons.

Well some were also homeless people.

That said, it's a matter of respect. People plastinated for Bodyworlds all gave permission and they have proof of this. People in the show at the Luxor gave no such permission that can be verified.
