Oh I'm expressing I am being abused now? I have admitted to living in chronic pain and I do not like it but it's my fault I had the surgeries and put my hope in doctors. I was better with my degenerative disk disease before I attempted surgeries to fix it.
Look Kathy, there's the blaming yourself again. You put hope in doctors in order to, hopefully, get some relief from your disease, but now you have chronic pain from the procedures.
Why did you have these surgeries? Was the disease causing you discomfort? If you hadn't done these surgeries, would the disease be having adverse effects now? Did you not have consultation about the pro and cons of the surgeries?
I am certain you had a choice to either let the disease take it's course, causing you to have severe chronic pain in the future, or have surgery in an attempt to alleviate the condition.
What about the disease itself? Did you ask for that? Did you have a choice of whether or not to have degenerative disk disease?
I look back and know it's my own bad choices that caused me more pain. So how exactly am I accusing God of my own wrong choices? If anything I just had hoped he would heal me but I am not one he is choosing to do that for, at least not so far.
At the time of the surgery, you didn't believe the procedure was a bad choice, otherwise it would've never been done.
But the quote above is exactly why your not getting the point about suffering. Why would you consider being punished for wrong choices, when the choice was a natural one to correct an affliction you never asked for?
Many Xtians have died from their conditions when they refused treatment to fix the problem, believing god would heal them instead. Can't say they had a lack of faith, could you? But they died from their condition by testing their faith when all they had to do was go to a doctor or ER and survived.
And yes I am dependent on God, what's so wrong with that? You think me weak for it then let me glory in my weakness so he is proven to be my strength. I have many days I would not get out of bed without the Lord helping me to. And I have found things I can do without using much physical ability that are creative so I do find some joy in that. I am just challenged to have to change a lot of things I use to enjoy under my current circumstances. I always was a very active person so God has challenged me to change in ways I really did not want to have to. Are you following me? Change is hard sometimes especially when we lose some of those gifts we once enjoyed like better health and such. If you have never been in someones shoes that deals with chronic pain and fatigue I do not think you can really even try to relate or be compassionate. I have lots of empathy for others who suffer now because I know what if feels like.
Fine, good for you, but don't judge people just because they have never had chronic pain and/or use it as a crutch to accuse people of being incapable of compassion toward suffering.
Suffering is the fact of the matter here, why must we suffer? Why must death and misery be a price when the catalyst for all of this was put within reach of man to begin with?
Since you get depressed reading Ehrman, then you are incapable of having independent intellectual thought: You don't think for yourself anymore as an individual, god does the thinking instead. You're just a godbot with chronic pain.
