Why didn't osama bin laden just hit Israel?

To answer the OP, Israel gets "hit" all the time. What's the point of hitting them harder? Israel just gets bad PR for awhile while they go on offense and then settle back to getting hit again. Hitting the US hard was the only way to make it global and draw in the western countries as a whole.

Israel gets hit all the time because they are oppressing people that had nothing to do with the holocaust.

Why don't they just have Israel in North Dakota or something? I'm sure the American-Israeli backers won't mind.

Or better yet, they should have New York.

We have done enough for them, we've soiled our name, given them and their enemies billions upon billions of dollars Etc.

George Bush was Osama bin Laden's happy accident. Bush worked tirelessly to bankrupt America, and would have done so without bin Laden's prodding.

As for bin Laden and Israel, it was a secondary concern, I believe. The continuing presence, at the time, of American military bases within Saudi Arabia was the most pressing subject of Jihad. That is why America was the target.

He would have more incentive to try and hijack a plane leaving syria or lebanon where the security is weaker.

There were plenty of terror groups attacking Israel, many with the advantage of being run by Palestinians. Bin Laden was a Saudi, and his (halal) beef was with the US for being in Saudi Arabia.
