alien life possibility is pathetic

What is this "Na". The remote provinces of Na... sounds like something out of H.P. Lovecraft.

And upon the Obsidian Mountains in the most remote regions of Na, man did meet his grim demise, at the hands of unspeakable horrors...

Oh, you meant NA, as in North America. Okay, continuing on.

Well, you stick with that idea. Meanwhile, I'm just going to be smirking and following mainstream Biology. You know, the kind that doesn't believe every single claim of a new species based on blurry footage. :3

You forgot bc, cascades, oregon, washington forests.

Why ignore the fact that 11 hairs from 4 different states all defy known species, but are consistent with each other, ALL lack a medulla, and are different than human hair. Scat by owen caddy that defies explanation.

How can I, when talking about "remote regions of North America", forget said regions in North America? I didn't forget a single thing. I just didn't mention them specifically.

You, on the other hand, have forgotten quite a bit in this thread (and the Bigfoot) thread; notably, your own arguments, as well as reminders that the whole discussion of Bigfoot is off-topic for a thread on alien life in the first place.

If you say so. Personally, I couldn't really care less either way; I can't really care about Bigfoot. Alien life is actually interesting.

I can guarantee you than intelligent life will not be found in the next 100 years. SETI might as well send signals through an empty galaxy.

I can guarantee you that Bigfoot will not be found in the next 100 years. Footers might as well be wandering in circles in Central Park.

And big foot hasn't been found in over 200 years. Your point?

How long do you think SETI has been sending signals into the galaxy?

Well, since it seems the Makaya won't analyze the star I gave him, here's the reveal:

That particular star has a 100% chance of supporting intelligent life. You see, that picture is a picture of our own sun, taken by the Voyager probe, from about 30 degrees outside the ecliptic.

However, by his silence, I can rightfully assume that Makaya did not know that. That he could not tell, despite a photograph and information about the star, whether or not it was a viable system.

I think he knew he couldn't tell, which is why he avoided answering the question. I think he knows that this shows that, given how hard it is to tell about one star, it's impossible to say definitively about the rest of the galaxy, much less the universe.

I think he knows all this, but can't admit it, because he is 18 and full of himself, as many 18 year olds are. He can't admit he is wrong, because to do so isn't cool. It's not manly. And so on.

So, Makaya, go right ahead. Be cool. Be manly.

But you're wrong.

NobbyNobs schooled little mak silly.

We have been looking fairly recent, not 200 years ago.

Thats funny z, since most footers are armchaired, and dont go out much

Oops for you. Bigfoot's discovery in no way depends only upon the lifestyle of its enthusiasts.

Tell us, makaya. What precedent do we have for a massive land animal to live in across an industrialized, mapped, explored, wired, heavily populated, constantly studied/developed continent and have not one shred of reliable evidence for its existence?

Not to give too much away, but there is a pretty darned good indicator that there's no Bigfoot in North America. It's called (something like) satellite geographic thermal imaging, and can be used to accurately determine the population of a land mass, is currently being used by the military, is pretty darned successful in spotting human-sized and larger creatures, and is able to differentiate between human and non-human.

It, unfortunately, doesn't work well in caves or underground, but is beautiful in wooded environments like Korea, Germany, or... gee... North America.

It would have spotted Bigfoot at least ten years ago.

There is no burden for the skeptics of alien life. Until life is proven to be out there, its considered a MYTH

Yeah, I think you're just a chat-bot designed to emulate a human writing posts. Until you are proven to be human, you are just a MYTH. There. Burden's on you.

My father doesnt let me abuse beer, thats why i have my ways of getting it somewhere else. Im not a little kid anymore.

Actually, you just proved that you are.

How scientific...

And you say you're a fan of Carl Sagan? Obviously you don't have a clue about the man.

Thats why i first posted here as a believer, then got frusterated, and turned into a skeptic, because i cant stand being a believer in something thats not gonna be found sooner

Then you didn't "turn into a skeptic", because you have no idea what the word means.

You're just an impatient teen with no critical thinking. Come back when you're older, son.

Obviously, poking for apes in forests, if you don't find what you're looking for, it still obviously exists, even though you've practically poked through the entire forest, but you just haven't found it yet!

Meanwhile, contacting alien life, it obviously doesn't exist, because we poked through 0.00000000000000000000000000001% of space!

Totally logical!

But that is entirely your argument. From the start you've been saying that it's impossible. And this despite the fact that the probability of an advanced technological civilization evolving in this Universe is 1.

I also cant prove fairies, gnomes, bigfoot, nessie dont exist! Alien life should be lumped with all of those loony bins
Fairies and gnomes are supposed to have abilities that would break the laws of physics, so probability, not very high. Bigfoot, well, I think others have shown the math on that. Nessie - a giant pleisiosaur (or more correctly, an entire breeding stock of them, otherwise how the hell did they survive) living in an isolated loch that's been trawled from end to end with the highest accuracy underwater equipment available - probability - vanishingly small.
