In a nutshell the traces can be matched to an elk lay and there were other signs of elk and no other signs of bigfoot. It was an honest mistake..(cough) I suppose. Unless a bigfoot saw the elk laying next to the apples and straddled him so he would not get dirty. If ever you would want a trail cam. And why can't elk have balls? Positively identifying an elk impression killed the Skookum cast. And back on topic..

O, the skookum cast was examined by Sarmiento, and he doesnt think its an elk. Care to offer a counter arguement?
You mean the same "expert" who "examined" the cast for hair while bending over it without a hairnet on his long hair?
I assume his face time (or hair time) was more important to him than scientific integrity.
I've heard it explained that he was only looking for embedded hair in the cast but that's still a poor excuse if one is truly trying to be professional like they portrayed it to be.
Remember mak, LMS was an entertainment program and not a documentary..at least that's the excuse that's bandied about whenever hard questions are asked about it.

Noll says he thinks it's a bigfoot too, but he wouldn't sacrifice his integrity by supporting bad evidence for the sake of TV face time either would he? ;)

You really need to do your homework before throwing out challenges.

Is my Bucket needed here again ?

Kitz, i know that, but do you ignore the fact thay many outdoorsman have never seen a bear body in their life, and in no way in hell are they lazy, they scan every damn inch of ground

Jeebus boy, you need to take some logic courses. Just because many outdoorsman have never seen a bear body, doesn't mean all outdoorsman have never seen a bear body.

Which, by the way, is not the same argument as you present here:

Jc, but do you IGNORE the fact that MANY hunters and outsdoorsman rarely find a carcass of any animal?

But then we're back to you needing to take some logic courses, aren't we.

Who in the hell is anton?

Why am I not surprised?

Maybe it's old age creeping up on me, but I'm finding I have increasingly little patience for those bigfoot newbies that won't even make an effort to educate themselves.

Mak, do ANY of the following (without Googling) sound familiar? If they DO sound familiar, what do you remember about them?

Kyle Mizokami
IVBC
Eyes of the Forest
Skookum Cast
David Thompson
Jacko
Snow Walker
Cripplefoot

Kita, or it must be that animal remains are rarer than we think

Define rare and animal remains ARE found ( except for BF)

See, nobody is saying the forest is full of rotting corpses but ALL animals die and those out there decompose ( which takes time depending on a number of circumstances) so rare or not- they exist and are there. ( except for BF)

Kita, or it must be that animal remains are rarer than we think

They are not rare at all. There's typically one carcass per animal. Of course, some animals are swallowed whole while still alive, but once you get above a certain size, that's not really practical.

When we discuss finding a carcass or other remains, a lot depends on the word find. If you mean stumble upon while not actively searching, it makes perfect sense that we don't trip over carcasses.

First, there's the location where the animal dies. If it senses it is dying/impaired, it will usually try to hide. If it's killed by a predator, some predators will drag the carcass to a hiding place.

Second, once other animals discover the carcass, it gets eaten. There's a limited time where the whole thing remains intact. The fleshy bits go quickly. The inedible parts like the large bones may get scattered around.

Third, think about population density. It's estimated that bear habitat supports 1.0 to 2.5 bears per square mile. You know how big a square mile is?

Fourth, it needs to catch your attention for some reason.

So, in order to stumble across a carcass you need to be looking at a place that is probably concealing it *and* actually notice it . You need to do it within a relatively short period of time. You need some luck to be in the right place. And you need to

And yet carcasses are accidentally discovered all the time. It's actually rather mundane.

If you want to find a carcass by looking for it, it's really not all that difficult, especially if you bring along some dogs.

And yet not BF carcass has been found. It amazes me that you think there's no chance of ET life but that there's a good chance of a BF.

Unca, its definitely not easy to find carcasses of rare animals. Are cougar bodies found by the truck loads every week? No, they are found once in a while if lucky.

Speaking of Bob Heironimus. Has he dropped off the face of the planet ?
Any recent news from him. I keep finding the same old info.

What do you mean by find? Stumbled upon or actively searched for? According to Wiki 112 have been killed per year in California between 2000 and 2006. Don't know how they were found. And what do you mean by truckload? I figure two carcasses per week would require a pick-up.

If you want to take this up in another thread, let me know. I think we're getting too far away from the original topic, which is pretty clear in the very first post.
