Native American myths/traditions support Bigfoot? A critical look.

Psychology explains up close sitings, but I believe there is a reason that you are trying to talk about issues other than Native American stories in this thread; so that the people who could best answer your objections don't see it. The other BF threads have more about exactly what you are talking about. Please, read them.

No, absolutely no, the creatures I mentioned were not based on real animals. I assume you don't know the creatures? I can see dinosaur bones and dragons, but oni? Tengu? Pull the other one.
 
Well they all have a basis. Some were based on animals. Like i said, its not unreasonable for early man to have encountered some kind of hominid and use that for their stories, regardless of whether it exists today

I don't think the problem is the link. I think whatever was at the url address is simply expired and no longer being provided. If you have an image you can see on your pc, then why don't you save it to your desktop and then use the image host function here? It's only slightly less simple than using the quote function.;)

Please be specific as to size differential, light conditions, terrain, temperature (estimate is fine), and clothing of individiual you were observing at that distance.

It was cloudly out, temp. 50 f, clothing: t-shirt and jeans. I knew the size of the individual moving was bigger than me. It turned out, i was right, im 5ft 10 and the individual was 6ft 2.

You mean the walrus with a moustache, the giant otter, the bear with a sinus infection, the sasquatch with the two monocles, the hairy ghost with the bleeding eyes? It seems quite open to speculation and interpretation, and has not conclusively been shown to be a representation of a bigfoot. While Kathy Moskowitz Strain may conclude that the Hairy Man Pictograph = Bigfoot, have the majority of other archaeologists also reached that conclusion?

Thank you for your quick response and answers.

When you say that you "knew" the person was "bigger" than you - can you be more specific? In other words - did he/she seem much, much taller than you - or were you pretty certain that you could tell he/she was just a little bigger than you?

Were you using a known object for scale that the person was nearby to aid you - or were you able to ascertain the differnce in height unaided?
 
My eye sight is above average, almost 20/20. It was an open field with no references in size, and the figure away from me i estimated was around 6ft 3 6ft 2

Very very easy! If the Bigfoot in question is BIG like on the order of 6'8'' then what appears to be short legs is simply short with relation to the rest of her. Those short legs could be the length of a very tall human yet appear proportionately short to a very long torso. Right now the flavor of the week is putting Patty down around 5'10" and there's a lot of moaning and groaning about how 41" stride can come out of shortcakes Patty. Patty is big scaling attempts to make her a more wieldly candidate for being short never work out right. there's always at least one element that won't work. Over at BFF there's CAD scaling going on right now and comments are of scaling not working well.

Based on the circumstances that you describe (and assuming that what you say is true) - you made a lucky guess.
There is no way that anyone can estimate height that accurately at that distance without very specific referencing points (and even that would take exceptional eyesight - which "almost 20/20" is NOT - and a lot of practice).
