It failed from day one ... not sure about dead, and I don't think I ever expressed an opinion either way on that. After all, some people still believe in a flat earth!
From day one? What an entirely unskeptical point of view.

Really? So how much time do you spend moderating (cough... gag) the flat earth sub-forum?

If you are referring to the General Skepticism section of this forum, then a little less time than I spend moderating here. If you have another forum in mind, I don't moderate anywhere else at the moment.
Not sure why that is of any relevance, though? The point that seems to have sailed abuot 5 miles over your head is that people believe stupid things, and have done for a long long time before the 'truth movement' ever existed.
No, there's not. Which is why I tried to help you out by suggesting the closest alternative we have, where that topic would be discussed.Oh is there a dedicated flat earth subforum over at General Skepticism?
Probably because it doesn't exist. Like 'truther' evidence.Because I can't seem to find it.
It's actually been one of the quietest sections in recent months, as there is less to talk about.9/11 conspiracy always seems to be pretty hopping here at JREF though. Why is that?
No. I have no idea why you felt the need to ask about moderation of a non-existent forum in response to a comment I made about bizarre beliefs. Please explain.Oh I think you're pretty sure.
Since that forum doesn't exist, I don't comment there at all - nobody does. I do comment quite regularly in the General Skepticism forum, though, and yet I'm still at a loss as to the relevance of where I may or may not moderate, as regards my opinion that people in the world have held weird beliefs, like that the earth is flat, regardless of the existence of the 'truth movement'. In other words, the 'truth movement' does not hold the monopoly on fail. I gave flat earth as an example of another fail. It's nothing to do with moderation. I hope this fuller explanation has made it easier for you to get that point.I think my point hit right someone between the eyes. For instance how much do you comment over in the dedicated flat earth subforum?

Dude, you totally win. You are better than a Flat Earther! Way to go! Heck, you're better than the No Moon crowd. However, you are still looking up at the Atlanteans.
Keep reaching for the stars!
Can I get a laughing dog!
One moderator <snip>
Oh would you look at this? 16.5 is coming in to defend Chillzero. How chivalrous. But are you sure it's fair? One moderator and one big strong debunker against one lonely crazy twoofer?
Maybe you should go get some more people.
Stars? Which subforum is that? Would you even know? Do you ever leave this one?
I thought you were a laughing dog?
You have to remember that from his vantage point he has superior knowledge that the case for what he refers to as the "official story" is weak on knees. Or something to that effect. He seems to use that as a launching pad for his provocations, just my observation...And again you focus on something completely irrelevant. I did not post as a moderator - does it initimdate you that I have a role other than that of member?
I tried to take a bunch of the conspiracy claims seriously at one point, but there's a time at which they state a claim that the government is doing "such and such" to keep a story covered up and they back stab their audience by hypocritically choosing to resort to the same methods they claim the government is using. The pictures they use to prove the molten metal claim are one such example, showing cropped photographs of clean up operations to say "this cut was made by thermite to bring down the building", is another. I have to wonder if doing any of that is remotely necessary if they have the volume of evidence they claim to have to prove their case. From day one? What an entirely unskeptical point of view.
No, It's the distraction of your avatar that has him miffed (kids)And again you focus on something completely irrelevant. I did not post as a moderator - does it initimdate you that I have a role other than that of member?

I'm still looking for that flat earth sub-forum. I mean it is as disputed as 9/11 right?
Right?
Yeah right?
