Obama -- a lying tax cheat?

First, when you try and use a blog as a source, it helps to read the whole thing, as Hokulele pointed out.

Second, at this point, it's nothing more than insinuation. No facts. No case. End of story.

But the Assessor's documents don't indicate the home is owned by the trust. They indicate it's owned by Miceli.

Which, according to post #13, is required by Illinois law.

I have a house owned by a trust. The trust is indicated on the assessor rolls as the owner of the house.

I can think of two obvious possibilities.

#1 : you're not in Illinois,

#2 : Your agent screwed up and it will end up being an expensive hassle to fix if you or the trustee needs to sell the house, since "the trust" cannot sign the conveyance documents.

So why isn't Obama's listed as owned by the trust?

Because the trustee, not the trust, is listed as the owner when the documents are correctly filed under Illinois law.

Can you provide any proof that Obama paid the property taxes? Especially given that so many other things involving this land deal and anything involving Rezko in general seem suspicious.

wow. just wow. This shows that you absolutely do not understand how trusts work or how anything put in or bought under a trust is handled.

Before you spout more stupidity, I suggest that you talk to a lawyer that handles the establishments of trusts and trust funds. And a simple look into Trust Law would actually clear up the many misconceptions you have.

And what is your proof that Miceli is trustee? I haven't seen that stated in anything offered on this thread so far. Maybe he is but right now that's an unsupported claim. And I still haven't seen any proof that Obama actually paid the property tax on the house.

Besides, if Miceli were trustee for the Northern Trust, the assessor's documents should reflect that, shouldn't they? The assessor's documents for my house state the name of the trustees (that would be my wife and I). It specifically calls us trustees. The documents for the Obama house do not. They simply call Miceli "the owner". Since there is a legal difference between acting as a Trustee and acting as an individual, that's seems rather significant. Or maybe *my* lawyer was smarter than Obama's afterall ... or at least not as sloppy? :D

Please read the document I posted about trusts in Illinois. Note that one of the reasons people have their property in a trust is to protect their privacy, so having the actual owner's names on the assessor's documents would kind of defeat the whole point, don't you think?

Not that it matters much in Obama's case anyway, since that cat's been out of the bag for years.

You mean what you posted in #4? Do you have the link to that? And I don't see Miceli's name on that.
I got it from the real estate section of the Chicago Tribune's web site. You can't link directly to it, but you can search for them yourself. Incidentally, I blacked out the address and property identification number.

Wheee! Insinuations!

Wheee! Claims of "you can't disprove my insinuations so I'm right!"

It's like the election forum all over again.

So we can add real estate law and estate law to the list of topics about which BAC knows virtually nothing, but based on which he is willing to make accusations of criminal activity.
