A good point. However, some here rarely venture outside this subforum. Now I can see how one might look at a "general discussion" thread as contributing to regulars not venturing out, but if we assume they will not anyway, isn't it ok to have thread that allows some general chatting.

That said, my intent, for the most part, was for a thread that related to 9/11, but with no specific topic, for venting, posting the latest videos, etc...

The thread, however, does not belong to me.

I am personally very suspicious of Joe Madden, manager of the Rays. Look at the glasses, very suspicious. Plus, he has never accounted for his whereabouts prior to 911.

I will take charge and get this thread back on track. I find that in real life, when the topic of 9/11 is brought up anywhere (school, work, etc.) I PRAY that no one says anything about a CT. I am well versed enough that I can swiftly crush any claims of CT nonsense, but that's not what concerns me. What concerns me is that a friend of mine will say something and then I can no longer be friends with that person. I know, that's kinda messed up but I have built up such a disdain for twoofers that I cannot possibly be friends with one.

A month or so ago a coworker of mine out of no where brought up Loose Change and how it was an awesome documentary. Appalled at this claim, I immediately went into debunker mode and started tearing the movie apart. He simply ignored what I was saying, and now I can't stand the guy. He used to be a friend of mine. In my opinion, anyone believing in that kind of CT is a representation of what kind of person they are. They are no one that I would like to have any sort of relationship with. So whenever 9/11 is brought up, I always pray that no one says anything stupid so I don't have to have negative feelings towards a person.

I have a cousin who I have been very close with for more than 10 years. He's a genius, or has been, by conventional standards (or at least compared to me). High IQ, over-achiever in school, extra-cirricular intellectual achievements. He is in his third year of law school at GW. He came home last Christmas break spouting all kinds of long-debunked truther nonsense. I was dumbfounded at how this guy who had always been so smart in so many ways could have fallen off the deep end on this subject.

We've agreed not to talk about 9/11 at family gatherings anymore.

1) Nobody pushes the 9/11 CT subforum around, and

I find that if I am debating a stranger, I have no problem keeping my cool. But if it is someone I know, I get very frustrated very quickly.

I agree with you. Not too long ago a former friend of of mine was trying to tell everybody about how it wasn't a plane that hit the Pentagon.

Twoofer: How come there was no plane wreckage at the scene?

Me: There was and most of it was inside the building. Just because some idiot liar showed you a picture where there wasn't any visible doesn't mean there wasn't any there. In fact there are pictures which show wreckage that is consistent with an AA jet.

Twoofer: Well, they could have planted it there.

Me: Really, how come nobody noticed?

Twoofer: They were paid off.

Me: What about the eyewitnesses? There are plenty that say they saw a plane fly into the Pentagon. One is a pilot who told CNN it was an AA 757.

Twoofer: Do you know any of these people? They could all be paid off. What about the guy that said it was a cruise missile?

Me: The "it was like a cruise missile with wings" quote might be the most misrepresented thing in twoofer history. Right before that, he said it was an AA jet. Look it up on youtube if you don't believe me.

Twoofer: Well he was probably planted too then.

Me: Did you know that DNA tests of remains found at the scene were conclusively linked to all but one person who were known to be on the plane?

Twoofer: It all could have been faked. Do you just believe everything that the government and media tell you?

Me: You are an idiot.

Obviously, I could not convince this guy. Everybody else that heard the conversation realized what a crazy idiot he is though. I am no longer friends with him. I cannot be friends with somebody that I do not respect. And I definitely do not respect any twoofer, especially one that says there was no plane at the Pentagon. If he had just admitted that he was wrong and that Dylan Avery conned him, I would have no problem being friends with him.

I must add that this is my one and only encounter with a twoofer in real life.

I think the sports discussion here has served a very beneficial purpose. Several of the CTists rarely venture outside this sub-forum, and all of the comments on the sports topic(s) have been positive so far. If this thread can get people on both sides of the conspiracy aisle (so to speak) discussing something, anything, in a civil manner, there is a chance that the civility might spill over into the other threads.

OK, fine. Call me an incurable optimist.

If Millen had been behind it we'd remember 9/11 as the day two passenger jets hit an abandoned parking garage, one hit the Citco north of the Pentagon, and the last one made a successful emergency landing in a field so the NWO agents would be around to rat everyone out afterwards.

Agreed. I have really only encountered one or two twoofers in real life. The one time it was my friend, it ended the friendship very quickly.

How could it have been found when most of the evidence still has not been released yet?

People who worked on the 9/11 commission have stated they did not have enough time or money to do a proper investigation.

The FAA and FBI refuse to release the serial numbers for parts.

The FBI has not released the remaining videos from the CCTV cameras on and around the Pentagon.

The FBI and NTSB have not released their crime scene reports.

So how can you say the truth was found years ago?

You seem to thinnk that there wasnt a proper investigation.
Lets say that you are correct.
Why is it that there is no outcry within these organizations for a new investigation?
100's if not 1000's involved in someway with the investigation yet NO ACTIVE protests for a new investigation?

Your conversation with this person is a great example of why it is utterly frustrating trying to reason with most of these truthers...they have the ultimate disclaimer..."It/they was faked/planted/paid off"

How can you even discuss the topic with someone who will simply say it was all faked or planted, and that anyone who proves it different is "paid off"...you just can't.
