Australia's (embarassing) Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, has announced that the country will no longer attempt to prosecute Iran's Ahmadinejah for incitement to genocide. I bet he must have been quaking in his boots over this prospect.

Why do small, insignificant (by world standards) countries try to make themselves look important with pointless and silly stunts?

I should add that I believe that Ahmadinejah is an idiot of monumental proportions.

Those nasty Free Speech laws in Australia.

So despite your "Ahmadinejah is an idiot of monumental proportion" summary,
the Australian Government didn't find enough evidence to convict him, either?

As usual, Oliver, your insight into how the world works is staggering to say the least.
Lionking, your link is broken. You have one http:// too many. Actually, it's not only that.

Ahmadinejad is the new Hitler. Ahmadinejad has said many times that the holocaust is a myth and it never happend. Seems like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believes that jews are trying to takeover the world. Sure he calls them "zionists" but what he really means is the jews.

Being an idiot and a leader of a country is not (as of this writing) an indictable offense in any other country, even those the idiot may be interfering with militarily. (Think W)

Oh, please - my Australian friends ... Send me the court-files if
publicly available:

"The Australian Government has strongly condemned the statements by Iranian President Ahmadinejad calling for the destruction of Israel and questioning the Holocaust," Mr Smith said in a statement to Parliament."

Seems as if they also fell into the "Rumor of the Century"-trap... :(

Apart from you conveniently ignoring Ahmadinejad's holocaust denial, the point you are making is purely semantic.

No, his Holocaust denial is quite obvious. That the Australian
Court lied about Ahmadinejad calling for the destruction of
Israel, seems obvious as well.

I'm just asking for evidence - or even better, the court-file itself.
I assume that it is publicly available - and I also assume that the
Australian court felt right into the Rumor of the Century trap.

And even the BBC recognizes the error [while ironically ignoring the
fact that Ahmadinejad was quoting the Imam, not making the
comment on his behalf] - and despite Palin, Bush and McCain
spreading the "Wipe off Israel" lie :

This was widely translated as a call for Israel to be "wiped off the map," although the precise translation of the remarks is disputed, and some suggest a more accurate rendering would be "the regime occupying Jerusalem should vanish from the page of time". Source

Oh, the evil liberal Media.

Oh god it hurts so much

Translation: I still have not provided evidence at that Skeptics Board.
I hope a stupid comment will make up for my deficits.

And funny enough, it seems as if "The Australian" doesn't want
to blame it's own Government, they still spread the lie as well:

Smith also announced the Government had decided not to pursue legal action, presumably in the International Criminal Court, against Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for incitement to genocide over his repeated anti-Semitic and threatening outbursts. The Iranian President has called for Israel to be wiped off the map and called Israel a "stinking corpse". His recent speech to the UN contained anti-Semitic diatribes.

Australia will not prosecute Ahmadinejad
Was not aware he'd been arrested.

There's a non happening.

Attention whoring is embedded in the genetic code?

He may be a jerk, but he's not stupid. He didn't get where he is today by being stupid, he got there by at least being clever, like a fox.

Dishonest.

"The Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time".

Ok, let's try something. If GWB said "this regime occupying Germany must vanis from the page of time."

How would Germans take that? Inflamatory? Damn straight.

Oh look, Oliver thinks if he can repeat the lie often enough it is then true!

Because we do, in fact, know how the Iranians themselves interpret it into English:
