An assistant to D.C. Mayor Anthony A. Williams lost his job for using the word. There was zero evidence the man had any racial animus or bigotry. It doesn't matter to the PC crowd. Some words are out of bounds regardless of intent.

It's a non issue. However, if McCain uses the word niggerdly or the phrase "call a spade a spade" his campaign will be over.

Yeah, that's one. Then for a couple of weeks after a few right wing radio folk used it. That said, it's odd that the only time I've see the word used much is in classical lit, the 19th century, seems to have died out, then popped back up.

Anybody with even moderate language skills should be able to understand that Obama was referring to the idiotic policies of the Bush administration and suggesting that McCain would just be a third iteration of the same BS.

That McCain got so bent out of shape shows to me that he is not able to comprehend what other people are saying.

I think most people realize that McCain has a cadre of some of the smartest handlers in the nation and every thing he says is thought about nine ways to Sunday. This was planned. McCain is playing politics and this is a tactical move. Will it work? I doubt it but no intellectually honest person with even a smidgen of knowledge of presidential politics considers for a moment that this proves anything about McCain's intelligence. McCain doesn't ask for millions of dollars of contributions and assistance from powerful people only to speak out his ass.
