I noticed in the wikipedia article there is this reference which I think must be a lie.

"his mentor Lyndon LaRouche"
 
If you google "larry johnson lyndon larouche" you will find several instances where they are linked together, but I could find none that called Larouche a "mentor" to Johnson.

Yeah, I think Magz finally found an acorn. If there was a tie between Johnson and LaRouche, the conservative blogosphere would have been all over it years ago.

I only looked at the first pair, but you could tell all along that there was something wrong with the doctored tape. McCain's body language was not compatible with him cursing. He looked annoyed but not furious. He was clearly being interviewed by reporters, with microphones visible.

An unpardonable smear.

True. Now, there is a place for this sort of thing when it is OBVIOUS political satire. Some funny things have been done cutting and pasting Bush's slurred utterances, but nobody was trying to fob the result off as reality.

Well, at least the swearing version gives some backup to Bumiller's claim that McCain was angry.
