Warm Fuzzies About TAM6

Just for accuracy's sake... The Quarks bill included food as well as copious amounts of booze.(oh, and a $358.00 tip!)

What a great group of folk to have finally met, albeit all to briefly in most circumstances and not everyone I'd hope to meat. I’ve always enjoyed the company of bright, interesting and eclectic folk and there was plenty of all that. Sounds like everyone arrived home tired but happy. Wish I’d had more energy for the evening activities, and it was great hanging out with CarlG who's still in Vegas a couple more days challenging the blackjack tables and the heat. I wish I’d had more energy for the evening activities… I suppose there’s always next year!!

Oh, man, I haven't said yet that GILMAR is the BEST FRIEND EVER!!!

That big-hearted guy got me the Slammer Lunch for a "we've been friends since freshman year" / birthday present!!! He also patiently and competently pushed my wheelchair down endless corridors any time I didn't specifically ask him not to!

I met some amazing people and started some friendships at TAM, but I bet cash money nobody will ever make a better friend than I had before I got there.

You rock, big guy!! Just take the praise and deal with it.

Sadly, I can say that same thing about most everyone at the conference. Not easy to get quality time with over 900 people during the blur that is TAM.

Oddly enough I think this was the first time we spent much time shooting the breeze and I enjoyed our conversation immensely (along with the other people at the table).

Agreed. I hung out with Sam--er, Phil? Sam? Let's just call him "Pham"--at TAM 5.5 and 6. Very cool guy.

Not so cool:

Outside temperatures of 100+ degrees

Not that it was any different at home....

Missing some talks due to inability to be in two places at once and the long distances between things -- I blame our restrictive 4-dimensional space-time continuum.
If I haven't heard that excuse from you a million times. :p

My friend HistoryGal could not attend this year
Next year. Next year.

My wife and I had a fantastic time! We met so many wonderful people out there, it was a shame that it had to come to an end.

I would also like to send a special shout out to Piggy who I would like to thank for demonstrating to my wife that she could find a conversation that was not science or Sci-Fi.

The talks were all fantastic and getting to shake hands and converse with some of my skeptical heroes made my first TAM a particularly memorable experience.

Still warm and fuzzy here in NY. Probably because I have not caught up on sleep yet and my brain does not realize that I am home and not still somewhere in the Flamingo. Because I sat at the forum info table I was fortunate that I got to see lots of people and attempt to give them information or at least a pigasus. All of my piggies found homes and that made me very happy.

Did not get to talk to as many people as I would like, but I think that even if we had a week or more, it still would have been difficult.

Many thanks to Ramboelmo for bringing a bit of Slingblade with him to TAM.

TAM is special and so are all of you.
