McCain may not be GOP Nominee?

Every reason? I believe he might have been overly selective in deciding what reasons to think about.

Delegates Needed to Win: 1,191

John McCain- 1,575

Mike Huckabee- 278

Mitt Romney- 271

Ron Paul- 35

Where is that quote from, some old election prediction I made? My record at picking winners is about as good as a TV psychic. My current prediction is that Obama is a slam dunk for the White House.

RON PAUL '08!!

It can happen now! It can happen. you know what he's gonna be seven miles away during the convention. How are they gonna be able to vote RP in if he's not even there?

Another thing, I agree with the article. It would just be good politics. They bring someone that the mainstream hasn't been able to pick a part like they did with john and barack, and you might see the elephants with some pull.

If they pick Elizabeth dole out of the woodwork, it will make the elephants have the upper hand on the donkeys until they get dirt on dole. (just an example)

That's a very stupid article. The only way McCain is not the nominee is if he dies or has a serious health problem. It will not be because of second thoughts about his electability. He is the only remotely electable Republican in the Universe right now.

ETA: Back when Romney and Huckabee were still in the race they did some head-to-head polls, and neither did nearly as well as McCain

There is a little congressman from texas who raised 6 million dollars in one day. Unlike mccain where all his money came from special interests groups. only men of the people get 6 million dollars from grassroots support.

Well atleast John McCain is like Richard Nixon. McCain is talking about an honorable end to the iraq war. LOL just like Henry Kissinger and Richard Nixon said that they would bring an honorable end to the Vietnam war.

I can only conclude that Rosenbaum and ronpaulisright both have the same dealer - one who provides some very fine "stuff".

Ron Pauls solution to the Iraq war is that just leave in Iraq. It doesn"t matter to the radicals if Iraq becomes another South Vietnam. I would be very surprised if the USA would turn its back to the people in Iraq same way USA did to the people in South Vietnam.

We left viet nam many years ago and now we trade with them. Now we are their friends. Haven't we learned ANYTHING from Viet Nam? Apparently not.

They want you people to leave anyway.

I couldn't find the right article but there was an article that stated in the pact they want american troops gone and they can not have their 50 military bases on Iraqi soil. Let's hope they get nothing signed. That way Bush doesn't get to terrorize these people after dec. 31.

I dunno, maybe the author is on to something. After all McCain has always been a party loyalist, towing the line on whatever the party bosses say, be it immigration, campaign reform, or whatever. Besides, he has no ego, and is remarkably even tempered. It's not like he even wanted the job...they practically had to beg him to run.

So all it would take would be for the conservative republican party bosses who have supported him so adamantly throughout the campaign to ask nicely for him to step down, and after a day or so of rational deliberation I'm sure he would do so for the good of the party and the good of the country.

This, of course, would be the John McCain with the beard on anti-earth ;)

Ron Paul????

Try again in 2012...his 2008 chances are ...well nil.

Does this mean the republican's will come to their senses and pick Alan Keyes?

Who's with me?

Alan keyes is like huckabee. Right? Religious nuts. I don't like religious nuts. And no, Ron Paul is not a religious nut.

I don't know. Is Alan Keyes a member of the CFR? If he isn't, he will be better than obama and mccain, but not better than RP. I would vote for a black president in a heartbeat, just not a flip-flopping fraud or a religious wacko.

So they won't nominate Ron Paul at the convention? Even if mccain passes?

So the question is... Is it possible for Ron Paul to become the republican nominee for president? It doesn't help that he will be 7 miles away during the convention. If the elephants are serious about winning this election they need a candidate that is anti-war and knows a thing or to about the economy.

Oh..... and is not a CFR member.

No they will not, because Romney suspended his campaign, and can resurface in needed as the nominee. As well, Jeb Bush is lurking about.

I guarantee you RP will not get nominated, EVEN IF John McCain, and Mitt Romney, and Mike Huckabee all get killed together in a plane crash...
