Ah yes, the atheists' favorite bible verse.
Used like the old GOTO statement in BASIC.
That may be the fave of some or even most atheists, but I have a different favorite.
Many people who have not examined their religious delusions carefully will turn to the Bible for comfort in times of sadness. Often, at times like these, they will go to the book of Psalms. And that is where I found out exactly how all-loving the God of Mercy is when dealing with human beings that are neither Jewish nor Christian. It's love, inclusiveness, mercy, and forgiveness in authentic Yahweh style. With no further ado, we bring you the Good News of God's genocide:
Blessed is the one who grabs your little children and smashes them against a rock.
--Psalm 137, verse 9
In another translation we find
"Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones." 137:9
Some might prefer the Douay-Rheims version:
Blessed be he that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock.
The context of this verse is that the chosen people, the One True Race, were asked to sing one of the Lord's songs, a song old Yahweh loved. So naturally they picked one with merciless slaughter of innocent infant children. In His mercy, of course.
You just don't get good baby killing songs anymore, the Bible is really the best source.
