Assistance required for telepathy proof

You mean like this:

Not a reasonable yes. Not even close to reasonable. Why do you think everyone is lying in the tests? What reason would they have to lie? Isn't it more reasonable to conclude that you do not possess telepathic abilities?

The odds are 10:1 in his answer, do that 3 times and you have reached the perceived JREF winnng odds of 1000:1.

I am not interested in silly word games and evasiveness. :eusa_naughty:

He asked me why did I think they were lying, I said it (the reason they are lying, mind game, for fun etc) was not relevant but it (the fact that they are lying) necessitated the use of a polygraph in the experiment.

Simple English, simple to understand. I am going to avoid answering petty questions as now that I have answered it, it has done nothing but to bring us back to the beginning. I think, I ask “Did you hear”, they lie and say “No” so the experiment has to be done with a polygraph to get around the lies.

Wasn’t that obvious to you from the question that was asked and the answer that was given?

Well, I must have missed the part where you actually answered the question.

Does the part that I bolded above give us a hint as to why all those people are lying?

PS: Please cut down on the schoolmasterly tone in your replies.

PPS: If you insist on continuing to include a polygraph in your suggested protocol, you seem to be in the wrong place here. The opinion of us lowly forum folks is not important in this matter, but you got a clear and straight answer from the JREF staff in this thread regarding the polygraph.

It's not relevant to the experiment! How many times must I say it?

Is it at all within the realm of possibilities that the reason they say, "No" is because they are telling the truth? Maybe they said no because, in fact, you don't have telepathic abilities.

Golfy, you don't have telepathic abilities. No one does.

And you have scientific proof of this from where?

Do it once, and it's nothing special. Especially given that it's the name of your doctor who you may have forgotten mentioning earlier in the conversation.

Isn't it more reasonable to conclude that you don't have telepathic abilities?

I wasn't necessarily speaking from a scientific standpoint; just good old horse sense, and the fact that everyone you ask says no. They are not lying, golfy. They are telling the truth.

If I used your reasoning to deduce I was telepathic you would say "intuition" has no relevance - I have evidence in my head that I am telepathic like you have evidence in you head that you just read the word "evidence".

To state that I am not telepathic from “horse sense” is as ludicrous a statement I have seen on this forum so far. You’re not even a horse.

Those are answers to different questions.

1) A polygraph is needed.
2) It doesn't matter why they are lying.

I see. I understood it differently because I read my post he quoted till the end and thought the following "it" refers to the polygraph which was the last I wrote about.

This still does not mean it is irrelevant why golfy thinks everybody is lying to him. Seems to be a strange prerequisite for a protocol, too.

Dumb All Over,

Are you willing to admit that your "horse sense" could be wrong.

golfy

golfy, do you have any close friends that you think would not lie to you about your ability?
If so, why not use that person in the test instead of a polygraph?
If not, well.....I don't know what I could possibly say that would be permitted in this forum.

Well, it would not matter to the test. He gets to make his claim, after all. It would just make the test a lot more difficult, and the problem so far has been that the protocl he suggested would be utterly unacceptable for a number of reasons.

Why it really matters, though, is that I think that this particular believe might require serious professional attention... I am no professional, but "creepy" doesn't even begin to describe it.

I requested that this thread is moved to a more appropriate section. Golfy has clearly no intent to apply.
