I am becoming seriously impressed with the Anonymous movement and their Project Chanology. Once they stopped screwing around with stupid hacker stunts, they actually started to organize street protests of the Cult of $cientology.

The first protest took place worldwide on Feb. 10th

The second worldwide protest was on March 15th

The next set of worldwide protests is on April 12th - and Anonymous plans to continue these protests every month for the forseeable future!

If you are interested in getting involved in one of these protests or just want more information, check out the following link:

Please pass this information on to anyone whom you think is interested. It is high time the Cult of $cientology is exposed for the fraud it is.

Knowledge is free.

We had another great and peaceful protest in Birmingham, UK :)

Handed out thousands of fliers (I exagerate not), engaged many people in educating chat, police were lovely, much support from local shop keepers and random passers by, had a couple of bizarre 'conversations' with scientologists, eloquent and knowledgeable participants.

Our group tends to split into two sections about 10 metres apart: one having lulz and holding signs in front of the church building, the other standing in a main pedestrian shopping street handing out leaflets and talking to non-anons. Works really well, people swap as they feel like it. All eat cake :D

How did others do?

So, i've missed the prior two(kept forgetting the date, then found out afterwards, stupid me)

But this time, i was ready, ready and eager to finally attend.

But friday morning, i wake up, take a shower, and i go to find the address... And the forum is down... So i don't know where on earth it is(well, ok, i know it is on copenhagen)

so i didn't make it

Then today(some 4 hours ago)i find out it was yesterday, saturday, not friday...

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Whatever. To me, "Anonymous" being responsible for the downfall of Scientology would be like Hugo Chavez being personally responsible for the capture and arrest of Osama Bin Laden. Sure, I'd be glad to have the latter taken care of, but I just couldn't in any way bring myself to praise the former for it - or for anything else.

That's a shame Tobias, we'll have to keep you informed for the next one: 10th May :) Let me know if you have any questions.

Yeah, thanks for your words of encouragement...

not really any questions, just need a reminder is all :D

Though this time i actually put it in my calendar.. so.. lets see.

The "version" of anonymous protesting Scientology is by this point (and for some time now) not the same thing. "Anonymous" as a label is all but meaningless, as anyone can use it, and it's true to say that a majority of the original people using it were irresponsible and had a bad reputation. That's changed as far as this effort goes.

Essentially you now have the best-intentioned and most articulate of the original chan-dwellers, and also a lot of non-anons recruited (older critics, newcomers, etc). The idiots have by and large fallen away and trouble has been pretty much non-existent. Anyone doing ddos and black-faxing in the early days has either got bored and moved on to other stupid things, or has stuck with this and made the effort to become responsible.

Of course the memes and the politically incorrect subculture stuff persists - this started as geeks reacting against a perceived slight, and the roots of it will always be there. You might not like that, but I'd ask that you judge by "anon"s actions 10th Feb onward.

I'd urge you to check out this piece;

http://henryjenkins.org/2008/04/anon.html

For me, it's like any activist exercise - there will be scumbags with petrol bombs lurking in the wings - does this negate what the majority are trying to do? And the worst done by the non-consensus anons has been the early socalled "hacking" and prank calling pre-feb 10th. No violence whatever.

The facts speak for themselves. Three peaceful protests in as many months.

Facts speak for themselves? Why, when its much easier to avoid thinking by using labels.?

Okay, this is anonymous here. You know, the group that went on an epilepsy forum and posted links and redirects to a gif designed to induce both pattern and color-related epilepsy.

These are not, I repeat NOT nice people. Sure, the protests they started may have been largely taken over by forces outside of them, but lets not forget what the core is.

And you KNOW it happened and who did it because you read it somewhere.
I'm sure you also read about the anon in LA they tried to frame, and oh yeah that Paulette Cooper girl.
Read moar.

I'm so proud to be an ordained SG minister. If there is one creed I truly follow in all aspects of my life, it's "Rule10 'em if they can't take a joke." :)
Perhaps the most useful:
"Act like a d******t and they'll treat you as an equal."

This is why we fight

On April 4th, 2008, a 25 year-old Sydney woman (who can't be named at this stage) pleaded "not-guilty" to the murder of her father and sister (who were active members of the Church of Scientology).

The young woman, who has been diagnosed with Schizo-affective disorder, fatally stabbed her 53-year-old father and 15-year-old sister in a psychotic rage at the family's home. She also attempted to kill her mother.

The girl's parents had denied her access to psychiatric medication due to their Scientology beliefs.

Burwood Local Court Magistrate, Jane Mottley, committed her to stand trial in the New South Wales Supreme Court. The trial will go ahead in July 2008 and it is understood that she will mount a mental illness defence.

Initially, VICKI DUNSTAN, President of the Church of Scientology Australia, denied that the victims were Scientologists. However, recent developments have shown that this was a lie.

Yeah, because it wasn't posted on the forum while they were doing it, or totally consistent with their actions.

Disrupting the protests and false flagging them is very scientology. The animated epilepsy gif is pure anon, and you know it.
