I'm with GreNME here. It's not that I find it offensive at all, I really don't care about people using any word at all, and I use much worse than that all the time. It's just the fact that it's not in any way funny. Simply repeating "fag" and "your all gay" for a whole page is not humour. Insults and offensiveness can be used to good effect and they can simply be part of your normal speech, but this is neither. It's trying to be an over the top comedy/satire thing and just failing utterly. It's not even managing the "excessive to the extent you upset people" that e^n says. No-one is going to be upset by this because it's so obviously just some kid who still thinks saying "boobs" is the height of humour. South Park is offensive and funny. This isn't.

I'm not trying to get around the filter, I'm making a point. There's a difference between over-the-top comedy and taking delight in outright cruelty or crude language. That link (and, yes, most of what makes up 4chan) qualifies as the latter. Treating as if it's only the equivalent of a funny kid with Tourette's syndrome is not making for a very convincing argument to me.

I somewhat agree with this, but I'd like to point out that homophobia appears to be prevalent among "truthers," as many of them seem to delight in insinuating that prominent debunkers are gay. This might explain the authors' attempt to label "truthers" as gay.

I don't find ED particularly funny, but they're useful when you just gotta know what new meme them thar kids is talkin' about.

It raises a bigger question: wikis are a good medium for information (Wikipedia), but how good are they for creative efforts (such as comedy)? Would a wiki work for, say, a novel? Or do too many cooks spoil the soup?

Is that why ED isn't funny for me? Or is it just the type of people that post there?

I find Uncyclopedia way more entertaining than ED; but I think they have much fewer writers.
