AMM, please allow me a few comments,
Note that the reconstruction in pic at http://farm1.static.flickr.com/149/353004218_747ac40641_b.jpg, despite the erect posture, has feet with opposing toes. They are different from what bigfoot's feet are claimed to be; they look like the feet from great apes (other than humans), thus implying a similar way of life.
The other one,

OT comment:
I guess the artist (and perhaps the writer of the article) supposed an evolutionary convergence with giant pandas due to the evidence we have so far on Gigantopithecus' diet. I find this idea very interesting! We already know of an ungulate (Chalicotherium) adapted to a knuckle-walking gorilla-like posture. And this reconstruction would be an example of a great ape evolving to a quadrupedal posture. Very thought-provoking.
Back on track:
I must admit I have problems with a 3-m tall ape spending as much time climbing trees as gorillas do... But despite the many uncertanities on how Gigantopithecus actually were, two basic facts remain:
1. Their fossils (of course, those that were found so far) are restricted to Southern Asia.
2. The reconstructions do not look like Patty. Not even Bill Mumm's.
So, the only support Gigantopithecus fossils provide to the "bigfeet are real" position is that they show an ape species can reach the size bigfeet are claimed to be.

You're right, Odinn....the illusion of short legs would become obvious when the actor walks.
The only way to effectively hide the true location of the joints is with a shaggy, baggy suit...one that does not have distinct body contour....like the suit on the right...
Dfoot's images of Gorilla suits are meaningless, until he can demonstrate how they can change the apparant position of the real joints....when seen in motion, and combining the same degree of body contour with the same degree of muscle movement/flexibility that we see in Patty's "suit".

When you say 'same degree of body contour', are you referring to the body contour of the person inside the suit, or the costume contour of the bigfoot suit?
Also, how do you differentiate between a costume bulging during walking, and muscle movement.
In addition, Why does the body above the hip move when the 'beast' turns, but below the hip, the body does not move?

Dude....I have no idea who Heironimus is or the back story on the suit you posted. The zebra pic was way over my head. As soon as I am able to post a link, I will. I have one I'd love to share with you.
I am not a scientist nor am I well versed in Bigfoot mythology. I am simply a curious person with a decent amount of common sense

About, whether or not the false joints in costumes would be revealed when the

Of course they would ..
Dfoot’s example was clearly an extreme one, to illustrate how joints are hidden in
costumes..
Patty’s knee joints are readily apparent , as is the right elbow.
The hip and shoulder joints are a bit harder to locate, and are ideally suited
for drawing different conclusions..

Common Sense? Now that is the problem. The Bigfoot people's existence CANNOT be reasoned through EXTRAPOLATION of what you have come to know as COMMON SENSE. So you have hamstrung yourself from the get go. Everything that you think that you know about man, animals and plants, is completely useless when it comes to doing Bigfoot Field Research for the purpose of verifying their existence. And since you have not referenced any specific Field Research, (like all the other card carrying skeptics here), then I can only assume that you either have not done any, or do not have a clue as to how to go about it. So every piece of common sense that you have utilized in order to conclude that the Bigfoot people do not exist, IS COMPLETELY USELESS. Which is why you have reached a conclusion that is in difference to 2000 years of Native American experience. Have a nice day.

show me some some real evidence. I admit, I have never done any research on the subject and wouldn't have the first idea on how to go about it. I've only read what has been posted on this thread. Admittedly, some parts I simply skimmed. So far, I am totally unimpressed.

There are some current threads at BFF dealing with the contemporary views of sasquatch. They deal with hunting methods, gps, bait, everything.
There are a couple of really good ones. There's a current thread dealing with the lack of fossil evidence. And "a drawing" that has a current depiction of the big guy. Then there's Bill Munns thread(s) dealing with costume specifics.
But, I also have a step by step guide for initiating an encounter.
There is no evidence that can be shown on the internet, where some paid disinformation artist is not going to berate it, and/or point out photoshop lines that are not there and cannot be seen by anyone. Plus that is an old skeptic game, to ask for evidence.
Try walking through the woods at night, by yourself, with no flashlight, no wind noise, no traffic noise, no cricket noise, no creek noise, no footstep noise from a companion, AND JUST LISTEN. Listen for the faint sound of bipedal footsteps that are almost totally concealed by their presence in another dimension. But they will be zeroing in on you. They will ultimately position themselved directly off of the road or trail, in order to observe you, from another dimension. Then, you will panic and run screaming back to your vehicle. And later, you will try to put this harmless incident completely out of your mind so you do not have to think about those darned old invisible people in the forest.

That's what I find interesting - almost every other person these days has a 3 megapixel camera and video facility on their phone and yet no new pictures or footage of Bigfoot, UFOs, ghosts etc. are forthcoming.
I assume someone during this thread has explained the 'reason' behind this.
I further assume it is fairly nutty.
Their is an unlimited budget for PSYOPS on U.S. citizens. PSYOPS exists for the purpose of CONTROLLING HOW YOU THINK THROUGH INTERNET DISTRIBUTED PROPAGANDA. Their modus operandi involves pack hunting predatorial, character assassination techniques that have been perfected elsewhere, but continue to evolve here as the Bigfoot diehards impliment changing counter Psyops tactics.
Free speech exists in name only, in the U.S. Constitution. If you open your mouth and voice an opinion here that is contradictory to the "approved opinion", you will be relentlessly attacked, berated, abused and ultimately, verbally destroyed by the paid character assassins that frequent JREF. Of course, your body will not be personally attacked. But every opinion, every photo, every thought and every action will be endlessly attacked.
For example, observe the techniques of Locknar and Kitakaze, over on the Bigfoot Invisibility thread. They work together as a team. Locknar's posts rant on and on, (but not him mind you) by pronouncing every post of the Bigfoot diehards as lies. He contributes absolutely nothing to JREF. Yet even in a moderated thread, his JREF destructive posts are permitted. They are permitted because they most likely are in agreement with the moderator's own opinion of Bigfoot.
So when you enter the JREF bigfoot threads, you are not entering chat rooms where FREE SPEECH is condoned, nurtured and/or recommended. You are in effect, teletransporting yourself to Communist Controlled Russia, where your every thought, statement and action will be studied carefully by the KGB, and ultimately it will be decided whether you will be held to pay for voicing opinions that are in contradiction to the APPROVED OPINIONS.
