And you would be spot on. Sometimes at these entertaintment events, stooges are planted in the audience.I'm of the opinion that a strong willed person who doesn't believe in hypnotism, or just doesn't want to be hypnotised can never be hypnotised.

My question to those that claim hypnotism is scientifically valid. Can anyone be hynotised? I only ask because I'd be willing to bet anyone that I couldn't be hypnotised.

Just like mediums who plant people in the audience who have recentley lost a loved one and find all the info. they need from neighbors and friends of the deceased. It's all hocus pocus.![]()
Please let me know if you ever visit down under. Perth in particular. I will be in the front row seat with a huge smile on my face and tongue hanging out. There was a hypnotist around these parts years ago who did plant stooges in the audience. But your right, they are people who are very suggestible to that sort of thing. Like others here have suggested, if you don't want to be hypnotized, it won't work.Disclaimer: the words I'm putting in quotes are used simply for lack of a better word. I have stated this several time in my past posts in this thread.![]()
Having said that, it's true that there are some people can't go into a "trance" by "usual induction methods" because that they are prepared for it, or they don't want to, or they are distracted. However, that's not to say that there are times that those same people go into a "trance" anyway in other circumstances.
I've said it before, everyone goes into some kind of "trance" everyday. We have to. It's part of how we concentrate and remove outside stimuli. Sometimes when we drop into that "trance" we get more suggestable or don't notice things that are happening around us. Usually an "induction" involves making someone so focused and relaxed that they are more suggestable.
Also, I must comment on this quote:
I've been doing stage hypnosis for a number of years now. I've never ever used stooges and have never done any prescreening. I simply rely on the suggestablity and desire of people.
....and yes, on stage, I have had hot women remove their clothes.... (but then again, my shows are R and X rated...)

Yeah and can't people under hypnosis remember details about crimes that they can't w/o it? (Or is that just the movies?)
I was hypnotized once....well he tried, I had a lot of troubles in school and my mother sent me to a hypnoterapist. He started talking a lot of ####. It didnt work he tried to explain that it didnt work because I didnt tried. If it were a real science he can hypnotize me whether or not I believe in it. ie If a man does not believe in morphine give him a dose and he'll start believing it in a couple of minutes, does not matter if you believe or not.

If I ever get there, I promise to have the hottest hypnotized woman to strip in front of you and sit on your lap.![]()
I remembered the name of said hyponotist, it was; Martin St. James. His son [a chip of the old block?] is entertaining the Japenese as I speak, in Japan. If I ever get there, I promise to have the hottest hypnotized woman to strip in front of you and sit on your lap.![]()
That's unfortunate. I have run into that a lot. What I've found is that the performers who do use stooges in their hypnosis shows tend to try to convince the audience that they have woo-powers. That's something I never do.
Exactly.![]()
Hey, do I get the same deal? I only live 30 minutes West of Hartford![]()
The old Hartford hypnotist was named Deluca. He used a stooge when he performed at comedy clubs but was just as effective performing without any at a couple of company parties I saw him perform at. Of course his show was pretty clean.
I still insist the people you hypnotize WANT to perform the dirty stuff and will subject themselves to the tactics suggested to them. [ bless them]![]()
Either want to or are at least willing.
Afterwards of course they can cop out of personal responsibility for their actions due to being under some "mind control" of the hypnotist. And so the necessary myth that the efficacy of stage hypnosis requires is further propagated.

If some bashful chick who doesn't as much show an ankle in public went on stage and stripped naked. Then I may become left of sceptic at least.Either want to or are at least willing.
