Brand New CT sub-group: No-Sounders

A few years back I taught a quarter at a JC about basic audio engineering. Every one of my students got the difference between principle of operation and polar pattern. I didn't get one wrong answer on any quiz or test that confused the two concepts. Maybe I should post my basics of the microphone lecture here. Sheesh.

What's it got to do with Gravy's movie?

Still not fooling anyone with this.

It is a sad day when a child can be heard over an Internet connection, pounding the walls, weeping with frustration , howling those last three words with the beautiful combination of snot and tears dancing together in a happy and fruitful labour with one another on the lower half of his/her face. A sad day for all.

Don't feel too bad. Just go get drunk like you planned. Then come back later and weigh in. It'd not like your opinions could possibly get anymore irrelevant.

It couldn't hurt. And it might be useful to those reading the thread who are not familiar with the technical aspects of audio equipment.

Sure. I really seem like I'm worried about the likes of you humiliating me. As if that could ever happen.
This is true. You would have to be smart enough to realize you've been humiliated in order to be humiliated. It's the same reason you cannot humiliate a horse, for example.

Seriously, if possible, post some basics. Or refer /link if you can't post them.

A day learning something new is a day well spent.

Edit: Let me expand on this. Reading the thread, I find most people's statements about audio basics to be plausible. LC then says "no." I don't trust his views in general, because he has consistently proved himself to be unreliable in other ways. But in this specific technical area, I'd like to understand better the basic errors in his statements.

I should say "I'm astonished" to see his denials and negations, but considering some of the nonsense Truthers feel able to post on other technical topics (structural engineering, etc.), I suppose I shouldn't be.

...are any of them as loud as any in Gravy’s movie?

Are any of them perfectly quiet?

You'd have us believe every single video made on 9/11 missed the sounds of the explosives. I might buy a few of them doing that (if I wasn't reading everyone else's comments here), but all of them? No way.

Not for me no. Ask gravy he's seems determined on wasting his life in the pursuit of proving absolutely nothing.

Well, he ceratinly has proved that it is exceptionally easy to send a Twoofer into a spittle soaked rage. This thread is evidence of that.

This thread is also evidence that the Twoof movement is reaching its nadir, but given LostChild's petulance in this thread, I am certain he is already aware of this.

Do these all sound the same? And are any of them as loud as any in Gravy’s movie?
All of those have very audible sounds of the demo charges going off, and they're also recorded through a closed window and from far away which greatly deadens the sound coming from outside.

Really? And do they blow them 70 stories up first in the middle of a core that I believe was what... an acre in size? Are there helicopters flying over head and sirens going off and people screaming? When the initiation started how do you know what happened first? How do you know if it's the sound of an explosion or the sound of the top floors coming down?

From my own personal experience in witnessing controlled building demolitions, the answer is an emphatic yes.

Any cutting charges would have been quite loud enough to have been heard and recorded.

End of the discussion.

lol

That's not what I asked you is it? Are they all equally as loud? And are any of them as loud as any in Gravy's movie?

And before you tell me about closed windows again I suggest you go back and read what I said about the difference between a closed building and an open gutted one in the other thread. Go read how I was attacked for that one.

Where did you witness a controlled demolition like anything I described there?

I don't remember claiming the WTC collapse was perfectly quiet. I'm talking about the comparison Gravy made.

:dl: in this you fail badly. In your video example above the windows are far from the explosives and at that distance they only have to muffle widely dispersed sound and pressure waves hitting a small target. Demolition explosives in a closed finished building with intact glazing however are hitting glass thats very close in proximity to the explosive device. The glass will not even survive the pressure wave being that close let alone muffle it.

Why should I ask Gravy? I've seen CD's in person (3) and have no doubts that the sounds would be heard and recorded regardless of the microphone or position in the building. You have done nothing to prove this not to be true. Why do you argue something when you have no intention of proving yourself right?

Well we have all heard of the No-Planers right? Well apparently we now have the No-Sounders. The No-Sounders claim first that no audio captured on 9/11 has the sound of explosions. Secondly in the same breath the no-sounders then claim if there are any sounds of explosions caught on any of the many recordings captured on 9/11 they are either explosive sounds that are not explosives or they are fake.

That’s right! You heard it. Fake audio just like the no-planers claim fake video.

And who prêt ell is behind such evil doings as to put the sound of explosions into wtc collapse videos? Are you ready for this?

Rudi Giuliani.

That’s right folks. Apparently according to Gravy and ktesibios Rudy and his evil cohorts may have had access to a Hollywood FX lab and put the sounds of explosions into a WTC collapse video.

Why would he do this?

I have no frigging idea.

Some no-sounders like Jonnyclueless go further and claim that all microphones record sound the same exact way. So it doesn’t matter that it is not known what was used in any of the recordings of the wtc collapse videos because all microphones would have distinctly picked up the sound of explosions over the sound of a collapsing 110 story building the same exact way. Even if it was just a microphone built into a hand-held camcorder while the person holding it is running for their life. Jonnyclueless also claims that the sound of something carries just as well from underground or behind walls as it does in an open environment. He knows this because he is an expert who knows more then anyone here on JREF about audio.

I’ve started this thread so that they may explain their conspiracy theory in more detail. I’m especially interested in what they have to claim about fake audio and Rudy.

Lastchild, what makes you think that bombs destroyed the towers ?
Haven't you heard of bending moments ?

Don't you know what shear force is ?

Do you know what happens to steel in fire ?

lol

Should they be? Different events, different distances, different ambient noises.

And before you tell me about closed windows again I suggest you go back and read what I said about the difference between a closed building and an open gutted one in the other thread. Go read how I was attacked for that one.
An explosion inside a building (especially one where many of the windows are already broken) is still going to be extremely loud when heard outdoors. It (the explosion in another building) won't be nearly as loud from within a building with sealed windows, buildings are usually designed to mute outside noises.

And I almost feel sorry for you that this has to be explained, it must be hard going through life with such poor cognitive ability.

What? What?

How do you know ...

A: where the explosives are in that Dallas building and how far they are from any of the windows?

B: where the explosive were in the WTC if there were any?

The building I posted looks like it would have fit inside of the wtc but somehow had more room to distance the explosives from the windows?

You get A+ for that one debunker.
