MaGZ’s political predictions:

Ron Paul comes in third in Iowa behind Huckabee and Romney.

A day or two later Dennis Kuchinich drops out of the race and makes history by endorsing a candidate in the Republican Party: Ron Paul.

Ron Paul wins in New Hampshire but fails to secure the Republican nomination.

Ron Paul and Dennis Kuchinich run as a ticket on the Unity 08 third party against Mitt Romney and Hillary Clinton.
 
Kerberos Political predictions:

Ron Paul won't win a single state.

Ron Paul supporters will cry conspiracy, and totally ignore the fact that Ron Paul simply has a very narrow appeal.
 
Worst Predictions ever.

While we're matching Ron Paul and Kucinich, why don't we have a Clinton/Giuliani ticket, or a Gravel/Huckabee ticket.

How about you just look at Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich's political positions, THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

Also Ron Paul has ruled out running if he doesn't get the Republican nomination.
 
The only confident predication I'm prepared to make is that Paul, Hunter Keyes, Richardson, Biden, Dodd, Kucinich and Gravel are out. Beyond that, Edwards and Thompson desperately needs wins in the early states if their campaigns are to continue past January. The Republican nomination is still difficult to dissect but I see Romney and McCain emerging as the ones to beat, Huck is all sensation and Giuliani is tumbling fast.

Frankly I don't care whether Kucinich endorses the Democratic candidate or not, if he doesn't want to play ball he should represent himself as Dennis Kucinich I-OH and try winning reelections as an independent.

Actually I think they would be the perfect pair for a Unity 08 ticket. Unity 08 is committed to having a presidential and a vice presidential candidate from different parties on their ticket.

Both are against the war, both are against the Patriot Act, both think there is more to learn about why 9/11 happened. No, they do not agree on everything but they both want to be in the White House and joining as a team could get them there.

Unity 08 will be a third party next year and on the ballot in most if not all of the states. There is only one candidate in the race that has a chance in running as a successful third party candidate: Ron Paul. Kucinich if he is smart, will join because he has everything to gain and nothing to lose.

Ron Paul has not totally rulled out a third party run.

But not from entirely different philosophies.

Lots of people are against the war. Sorry, but the Patriot Act and 9/11 conspiracy theories will be complete non-issues in the 2008 election.

It would be so easy to prove that Ron Paul And Dennis Kucinich disagree about just about everything except Iraq and some Civil Liberty issues that the party would collpase of it's own inconsistencies.
I also have a feeling that Kucinich would be destroying his position as one of the major spokesmen of the American Left by running with somebody as far right as Paul is on many issues.
And why am I wasting time disproving a dumb prediction by our resident Neo Nazi anyway?
 
If Unity '08 chose those 2 as candidates then what the hell would be their platform?

Scrap Taxes! ... NOT

I'm being serious, there is no way they could run a campaign, they disagree on almost everything.
 
Unity 08 is a joke. I have seen jello nailed more firmly to a tree than their positions on anything are expressed on their website.

Probably just a bunch of cranks.

Their only philosophy seems to be "The Establishment Sucks."
That might be true,but it seems to me you have to come up with a LOT more then that to become a viable force in American politics.
This whole "Throw out the Establishment,and we don't care what it is replaced with" is so stupid that I have problems with how anybody can support it.

You forgot to mention how they both feel about the Jews.

Stop goose-stepping for just a second and understand this: Paul will probably run as a 3rd party candidate because he sure as living hell won't get the Repub nomination. Plus, not much to lose, for him. He's probably dog tired of being a Representative and realizes he's not going anywhere else in Washington. So - get those crowds and those speaking engagements and some notoriety. And cash.

Kucinich isn't going to be joining Ron Paul. First, Kucinich already said he would not. But - it does Kucinich no good, splinters him off if he goes wandering off into UnityLand or RepubLand. He should be smart enough to realize that Congress is where he does best. Now as a Representative. In the future, maybe a Senator?

The only thing Paul and Kucinich have in common is they're both white. You should rejoice in that.

I don't even think Paul will run as an indie.
I think he knows he has no chance in hell of winning. And he will give up his seat in Congress to do so,which means as of Jan 2009 he is a nobody without a platform. I think he will opt to stay in Congress and have a platform to spread his ideology,which I think is what he is really about anyway. If he was serious about winning the nomination,he would have had a much better organized and ran campaign then he has had up to now.
Paul has also stated he would not make a third party run. He could always go back on that,but a lot of his image for being honest and open would go down the tube except for the true beleivers if that happened.
Kucinich will probably never get beyond Representative. He is way too far to the left to win in a Swing state like Ohio.

Dennis Kucinich - loyal Democrat since 1967. But whatever.
 
Am I the only person who thinks most of the Ron Paul fans around here have no experience with political campaigns and that is not going to change in 2008?

That is sort of the same track that white nationalists take when they put on their sheep suits to go ravening about liberal boards.

They just stir up the muck in hopes of creating a vaccuum into which they can insert their favorites, or bring the whole fabric of society down on itself so that they can play the heroic restorers of order.

Libertarians and anti-establishmentarians of all stripe are so incapable of governing that disaster would have to follow on the heels of their victory.

Disasters are very nurturant of tyrants.
