Thanks for your reasonable questions. First, I've already quoted the responsibilities of the Chairman, acting or otherwise. I'll take the US gov definition over what anyone has said here.
Secondly, I posted the sequence of events. By 9:03, you, me and nearly anyone with a TV knew we were under an attack. Myers chose to stay in his meeting for another 24 mins. His responsibility was to advise the president about military options and resources. He didn't do that. Instead of the presidential medal of freedom, I state unequivocally that he should receive indictments.
First, you are misinterpreting the responsibilities of the JCS and the term "adviser". The JCS's advisory role is wrt long term issues; it is the COCOM Commanders, SECDEF, Service Chiefs that are to advise wrt military options and resources related to near term/active issues.
While you may state "unequivocally that he should receive indictments", that does not make it so. You really need to learn how things work, and why they work the way they do, before you level such silly charges/acquisitions.
Second...you have yet to say what
you think he should have, or could have, done.
