Bigfoot: The Invisible Variety

I still get a chuckle out of that whole "reassigning the fourth dimension" thing. Words can not express the level of gullibility that would be needed to believe this.

well, it does have the makings of a good opening sequence to a comic book.

"An urgent dispatch is sent to Cambridge. Young Stephen Hawking is called to an emergency conference in California for what will become the most important Time Lord conference since that one time Einstein partied a bit too much with Courtney Love.

This time, the stakes were even higher. This time, bigfoot invisibility was on the line!"

I wish I was as creative as Histo, TBE and the corndog guy. But, can I have the creative without the crazy?

This is what we have learned from this thread so far:

1. Bigfoot are paranormal, inter-dimensional and benevolent people that are invisible most of the time, due to their ability to exist in at least the higher dimensions that are once, twice and three times removed from man's dimension.

2. Bigfoot Crying and Whining Handkerchiefs are going to be a hot item at Christmas

3. Blue collar Joe lunchbucket, has emotial security issues that prevent him from learning both new and old scientific concepts.

4. Once a skeptic, always a skeptic, despite overwhelming evidence in contradiction to the skeptics views.

5. Denial is the scientific method of choice, for skeptics.

6. Skeptics lie profusely, in order to provide proof of their viewpoint.

7. Skeptics are not particularly well read in the subject matter in which they think that they are not only experts, but imminently qualified to voice their opinions, on a public forum. Furthermore, when confronted with a list of reading material on the subject matter, they blow it off and not lift one finger to become better informed.

8. Johnny come lately, Thurkon claims to work for some governmental security agency that does not give a dam about bigfoot and also claims the same for all other governmental security agencies. Yet he makes posts on this thread over a 2 hour period that he claims is his work lunch break. So either he is not who he says he is, or his governmental security agency has a strong enough interest in bigfoot, to allow him to frequent bigfoot chat rooms on Uncle Sam's dime.

9. Kitakaze with one breath, claims to be a famous paranormal bigfoot investigator in Japan, but with the next breath does everything that he can to refute their existence.

10. Spektator repeatedly reaches self-serving and inappropriate conclusions, from his own research. Consequently, he would qualify as a heavily biased researcher and all his research would be considered tainted.

For example, from his library research where Stephen Hawking's ex-wife, he claims that Hawking was at Caltech on specific dates during the fall term of 1974, but a simple internet search of those 3 dates reveals that they are a friday, a saturday and a sunday. Yet Spektator concludes that this is proof positive that Hawking was at Caltech and not at say U.C. Berkeley (studying bigfoot), during the aforementioned time period.

From Spektator's research where he produces a handwritten note from Former President Jimmy Carter, where Carter fails to either admit or recall having ever met a bigfoot, Spektator then falsely concludes that President Carter has no knowledge of any bigfoot in his near vicinity. Yet Carter's letter fails to either ridicule the bigfoot's existence or say, label the question as patently laughable. Consequently, one can logically and correctly conclude from Carter's note, that Carter is either extremely polite, was not aware of a bigfoot in his near vicinity, is aware of the Bigfoot's existence, is aware of some secret governmental laws declaring bigfoot top secret, and/or is aware of how an admission of this sort could ruin his political reputation in a heartbeat.

Therefore, Spektator reaches self-serving and inappropriate conclusions, from his own research.

7. Marcus, Belz, Madurorob and all others mentioned above, appear to be completely ill-equiped for the 21st century. Their education appears to have been truncated quite some time ago, which would be well back in the previous century. Perhaps due to a lack of legitimate desire to learn new concepts (look it up on webster's online if you don't know what "concepts" means) , or not knowing how to purchase a book on Amazon.com, these three plus musketeers, perhaps best represent the skeptic's hope of tomorrow.

God help us all!

1. How come invisible bigfeet don't feel OK indoors but frequented tunnels underneath some millitary base?
2. How EMP can erase data from DVDs?

I could go on...

Oh, almost forgot!

No use calling for god's help. There is no god. God is not real. Bigfeet are not real.

..."where Carter fails to either admit or recall having ever met a bigfoot"

That is not what the note said. It did not fail to do anything. It made a declarative statement. Your inability to understand a simple statement is beyond crazy. Either Jimmy Carter is insane, lying or both, or you are. Guess which one I believe.

I know I'm doing wrong paying you any attention at all but this opportunity is just too juicy.

This is what we have learned from this thread so far:

1. Bigfoot are paranormal, inter-dimensional and benevolent people that are invisible most of the time, due to their ability to exist in at least the higher dimensions that are once, twice and three times removed from man's dimension.

You did not learn that here. Those are your claims, which you've completely failed to support.

4. Once a skeptic, always a skeptic, despite overwhelming evidence in contradiction to the skeptics views.

You need to look up the definition of the word "skeptic". It does not mean "doubter". Hopefully, once a skeptic, always a skeptic would be true for most of us regarding every issue.

6. Skeptics lie profusely, in order to provide proof of their viewpoint.

The only person who has stated "facts" later proven to be fallacious is you.

7. Skeptics are not particularly well read in the subject matter in which they think that they are not only experts, but imminently qualified to voice their opinions, on a public forum. Furthermore, when confronted with a list of reading material on the subject matter, they blow it off and not lift one finger to become better informed.

We are not obliged to prove (or disprove) your Random Neural Firings (RNF). Nor are we beholden to read the same crap you have. We base our opinions on science and observation which is a pretty solid base from which to determine what is or is not true in a probabilistic manner. You have spouted seemingly ridiculous and bizzare claims for which we are still awaiting evidence.

10. Spektator repeatedly reaches self-serving and inappropriate conclusions, from his own research. Consequently, he would qualify as a heavily biased researcher and all his research would be considered tainted.

Read the card again. Carter states that he has never met a bigfoot. Your nic should be hallucinator, not historian.

God help us all!

Why don't you call god, too? I've heard it's invisible and maybe even in the fourth dimension!

God help us all!

Are you ever going to 'splain your 4th dimension roommates or you full of it like creekstink?

I will second 'slimething' on that response and add the following.

Histo you talk about others reaching self serving conclusions. That is all you have ever done.

You concluded bigfoot was invisible because you could not gather evidence of it. Most people would conclude bigfoot did not exist. But not you!

You concluded that Carter's note was stating he has never met a bigfoot was actually proof that bigfoot exists. It does not get much more self serving than that.

You concluded that it takes 12 days to send a letter 140 miles, a claim I find almost more rediculous than invisible bigfeet and is certainly self serving.

You ask us to do research on a subject that has no experts, no official proof of its existance, and no peer reviewed scientific papers published on it. There is nothing to study but you conclude this means we are government agents, hate the truth, or want to discredit you. Self serving? I think so.

After all that I would like to ask you a favor. Your last post read almost like a roast of some of the members of the forum, will you do me next?!:D

Typical, rather than address any points made here, Neal would rather re-assert his claim and call all of us hopeless. It really is sad.

Ooooohhh, I've been waiting for this gold. I am not a famous paranormal bigfoot researcher? Prove it!

Where do personal letters take 12 days to deliver, round trip? The last personal correspondance I did, between OH and OK, took three days getting there and three getting back.

In the city, the trip is usually one to two days each way - it's not unusual to get a note back two days after sending it, locally.

Maybe in the fourth dimension DVD's are magnetic media...

I have it on good authority that in the fifth dimension you can play DVD's on a record player. Please believe me.

To both you and Slimething - nicely said.

Obviously Historian will ignore any and all fact that does not fit within his "invisible Bigfoot" realm.

I made my trip to the Carter Center, and Mr. Carter, alas, was not in attendance tonight. However, I did speak with someone who in January will have worked closely and continuously with Mr. Carter for twenty-eight years. I will be going back next month when Mr. and Mrs. Carter are presenting a talk, but after my conversation, I will say that I am convinced beyond all reasonable doubt that Mr. Carter never saw a bigfoot; never was in the vicinity of a bigfoot manifestation; does not consider the bigfoot a paranormal creature; and certainly never referred to bigfoot in a press conference from Plains, Georgia. At this point I honestly don't care if historian believes that, disbelieves that, or prints it out and folds it into a Napoleon hat.

Now, to anticipate: it does not take eleven days to drive from our campus to the Carter Center. I left at a little after four and arrived there at six-thirty.

Can I prove I was there? Why, yes, it happens that I can. C-SPAN was taping Professor Howe's presentation for "Book Talk," and the program will air in a couple of weeks. it covers Professor Daniel Walker Howe's book What Hath God Wrought (Oxford: Oxford U Press, 2007), a consideration of the changes in American culture resulting from the improvements in communications between 1815 and 1848.

Here are a few moments that you will see in the presentation and that I saw live tonight:

Professor Howe spoke of the war with Mexico begun under President Polk in 1846, pointing out that it was begun by a president who never clearly articulated the reasons for war, but once it had begun, appealed to the country to continue the war by telling Americans it was their duty to support the troops.

Here's information I could not have found anywhere else except by being there: Responses to questions. The first question was about the impact of treaties. Howe talked about the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, negotiated by Nicholas Trist. President Polk wanted much more Draconian terms than Trist was willing to negotiate, and furious that Trist did not (for example) secure Baja California for the U.S.A., Polk had him arrested and brought back to the U.S.A. in manacles. Howe said that almost no histories mention that fact--but his does.

One of the students asked a question about the second Great Awakening and the role of religion in American culture of the period. Howe responded, mentioning, for example, that when preachers asked men to sign a Temperance Pledge, they were asked to print a "T" after their names if they pledged to abstain totally from alcohol, and that, he said, is where the phrase "teetotaler" came from.

The last question was from a lady who wanted to know what effects the Treaty of Ghent had on the U.S.--positive or negative? Howe responded that the strongest effects of that treaty were felt by Native Americans, who had favored the British because they had trade relations--but the Americans didn't want trade, but their land.

That's enough, I think. You won't see me in the tape, by the way--I drove down separately because the two history teachers and the students more or less filled up the van, and they were almost late because of bad traffic on I-75/85 in Atlanta. We entered the theater just under the wire, and most of us sat in the back, behind the cameras. But I was there.

Afterward I spoke to Professor Howe and got an autographed copy of his book. To my surprise, he studied at Berkeley in the late sixties and early seventies. Not to my surprise, he knew nothing about bigfoot being a hot campus topic.

Driving home, I thought of a little moment from Shakespeare's 1 Henry IV:

Glendower: I can call spirits from the vasty deep!
Hotspur: Why, so can I, or so can any man;
But do they come when you do call for them?
....Oh, while you live, tell truth and shame the devil!

Postscript: I'm about to get very busy again; the writer whose history book (it covers the period 1960-1990) I am fact-checking has sent me a big chunk of manuscript to go through.
